About this deal

i am officially obsessed with this series and the eaton boys! heartless was even better than flawless, especially after reading the nanny last week, which has such a similar concept. it had some of my favourite tropes, without being cringy, and i love chestnut springs as the setting for this whole series! Their forced proximity, the slow burn, and the push and pull relationship made the sexual tension between them palpable and that hot tub scene. I am sweating even thinking about it. They both know what they wanted and they took it however they wanted 😮‍💨🤌🔥 They are mother and father for real 🧎‍♀️

Friends to lovers is a trope I find really hard to write. You need the right balance between emotional and physical, you need the right amount of tension (you know, the thing that makes you scream at your Kindle?), and you need to see the friendship morphing into love as if it was never anything else. Powerless has all of this, in spades. oh my god, the way these two are S O U L M A T E S. i cannot handle it. they had such a perfect understanding of each other and i was at the edge of my seat waiting for them to give in and confess their feelings. A few seats down Cade has his new baby girl, Emma, strapped to his chest in a carrier. He’s all proud papa, eyes more on that little bundle than on the game. It does weird things to my ovaries watching him. Willa is her usual playful self, sitting beside Luke trying to show him how to toss popcorn up in the air and catch it with his mouth. It just keeps hitting them both in the face.

However, is it too late? Because Sloane is going to marry another guy (spoiler alert: major asshole, would not recommend! Funny name, though!). But maybe that’s what it takes for him to see what he’s been fighting against for half his life. Our time together starts out as a simple transaction. Three dates. No touching. No telling anyone. And definitely no falling in love. Let me start off by saying I'm not really a friends to lovers girly. This trope has always been meh to me. Like I don't gravitate to it but I will read it from select authors. But after Heartless, I knew that Elsie can write a grocery list and I'll read it. And you know what? I think I've changed my mind on the friends to lovers trope. Because this book? It was EVERYTHING. Two childhood friends. Two broken hearts. One impromptu road trip to get away from everything. That’s all this was supposed to be. After all, I’ve been living in the friend zone for years now. The world's most adorable, funny and goofy kid. Always running and doing chaotic things. I freaking adore this boy so much and he deserves the best and he deserves Willa and everything happiness in this world. I'm glad he has Willa who loves him more than anything in this world. Their meet-cute is different. When they see each other again, Willa is being talked into being Luke's nanny for the next couple of months. Cade certainly doesn't like it, because she always speaks her mind and it will be hard to control her. Willa is not sure, but she likes a challenge, so she takes the job. You'll always have a place here. A home here. I'll make you coffee every morning. I'll leave you all the Post-its you want. I'll cook your dinner every night. I'll eat your pussy in the hot tub before bed every damn night." And yes, the Eatons are there, along with that sense of family and belonging I love so much. And I absolutely love Cade and Willa. There’s nothing like those two.So when my life falls apart on my wedding day, it only makes sense that he's the one to swoop in and save me. And when his world comes crashing down around him, I'm there to return the favour. And if you haven't yet read this series, I simply cannot recommend it enough. Trust me. Do yourself a favor and read it!

When the first kiss comes, you want more. You can't help but want more because you see these two need to be together. They want more too, but maybe it's early. Maybe Cade needs to be more tempted. Maybe he needs to be shown that it's OK to want things for yourself. Our feelings aren’t straight forward though. They twist and turn around the pain of his past and the reality of my present. Cade and Willa’s banter had me smiling like a fool. They had the perfect grumpy-sunshine dynamic where it was way too easy for Willa to rile Cade up. Their text exchanges were some of my favorite moments. But as usual, she doesn’t shy away from my darkness—after all, she’s my Sunny. She chases away the dark just by being herself." I'm not fully sure I own mine either today. I may have left some of it behind with these characters last night when I finished the book. Willa might be a bit of psycho—after all, she did just push a child into the pool—but the more time I spend with her, the more I feel like she’s my psycho."
