If heavy or prolonged rain is forecast, it is ideal to wait for drier conditions as heavy rain may disturb sand particles in the EASYJoint mix before it cures solid, giving an uneven texture. Prolonged rain will also extend the curing process.
Spray very lightly with water to maintain slurry consistency and aid sand movement. NEVER flood with water at any point during installation as too much water will affect the setting times and final strength of the product.
As the name implies, EASYJoint is super easy to use – simply soak the paving with water before commencing and then simultaneously sweep and wash the jointing compound into the joints, letting the water take the strain. You also have the added benefit of joining pavingwithout the need for kneeling and compressing the material by hand! For more information on how to use EASYJoint, keep reading! In dry conditions and warm to moderate temperatures and humidity, EASYJoint Pro should be firm enough to walk on within 24 hours and will cure very hard within a few days. Sealing is particularly recommended for porous paving slabs and setts prior to laying and jointing with EASYJoint, to reduce the risk of staining or efflorescence. If sealer is applied after the patio has been laid, do not apply any type of sealer over the joint for at least a month after it has set hard. Only use a breathable sealer, otherwise EASY Joint may or may not remain permeable, and you may seal in any natural efflorescence passing through the stone. These natural salts will disperse over time. Can you apply EASYJoint in freezing conditions? Available in different colours, EasyJoint holds up well against weathering and is incredibly long-lasting on joints that are 3mm wide and over. Once opened, the remaining product can still be used, in turn reducing waste and making the most of your money.
Similarly, while EASYJoint remains wet, either via the application process or through rainfall, the curing process will be suspended. Prolonged periods of rain, or several intermittent showers will considerably extend the setting times. Again, this will not affect the final integrity of the product in any way provided water can drain easily away and so allow even curing throughout the joints (as previously explained) Why use EASYJoint? All of our jointing products come individually or on a pallet which can be easily placed into a van or into a garden using a hiab lorry. After you have laid your paving slabs, having left the required space to account for the joints, use your hose pipe to completely drench the paving stones in water, if you're laying permeable paving such as Sandstone or Limestone. Once the garden paving is wet, begin emptying out your EasyJoint compound on top of the paving, adding water to the grout until it forms a slurry. Step 3
