About this deal

You’ll want to ensure a smooth connection between the catch and catch plate by testing and fine-tuning the magnets. With these tools and materials, you’ll be ready to fit bifold door magnets in no time. Preparing the Bifold Door First, gather a screwdriver, preferably a Phillips head, to secure the screws that hold the magnets in place.

When fitting bifold door magnets, it’s important to consider safety precautions. Ensure the magnets are securely attached to the door and frame, and avoid placing them near electrical outlets or devices. Can Bifold Door Magnets Be Easily Removed or Repositioned if Needed? To install the magnetic catch, make sure it is positioned correctly on the door frame. Start by holding the catch up against the frame, making sure it aligns with the corresponding catch plate on the door. The catch should be placed at a height that allows for a secure connection when the door is closed. Use a pencil to mark the screw holes on the frame. Then, using a drill and an appropriate sized drill bit, create pilot holes for the screws. Next, attach the door hinges to the door frame using the screws provided. Make sure the hinges are properly aligned and securely fastened. To reduce the impact when doors bang together, our CatchStops are also fitted with clear pads on both ends of the CatchStop to cushion the blow. Just another way that makes our stops the best in the market! One way to do this is by sliding the magnets along the catch plate. Experiment with different positions until you find the optimal placement that creates a strong magnetic connection. Due to customer demand, we have also introduced Catchstop Medium & Catchstop Micro, along with the SubMicro version at 26mm. Our VeryMicro catchstop is an awesome new addition at only 30mm (20mm diameter). The internal magnets in our CatchStops are N52 Neodymium, giving an incredible strength and superior hold in high winds.

If you prefer not to use magnets, there are alternative methods to installing bifold door magnets. You can try using adhesive strips or hooks to secure the doors instead. Conclusion The tools and materials needed for fitting bifold door magnets include a screwdriver (preferably Phillips head), measuring tape, pencil, screws, and a drill.

Bifold Door Magnets

There are two ways to fit this to your bi fold doors depending on the profile material, either insert a rivet nut into the sash and fasten the catch using the M5 bolts provided or screw directly into the door using the self drilling screws provided (the more common approach). Each catch is also provided with an "anti-rotation grub". This screw stops the catch from rotating around the central fixing point. Installing the magnetic catch requires positioning it correctly on the door frame, marking the screw holes on the frame, creating pilot holes for the screws using a drill, attaching the magnetic catch to the frame, and testing the catch by closing the door and ensuring it latches onto the catch plate. Start by loosening the screws that hold the catch in place. Gently move the catch up or down until it lines up with the plate. Once you have found the correct position, tighten the screws to secure the catch. Once you’ve finished measuring and marking the desired location, it’s time to prepare the bifold door for installation.
