This chronograph needs three AAA batteries. They fit inside a battery compartment that’s held shut by a single screw. Replacing that screw was the hardest thing I did during the setup.

Ever wanted to know the speed of your pellet, BB, Arrow or Paintballs, then this app will allow you to create profiles and store data from all your testing and tuning. This was the last shot in the string. The chronograph failed to record the 9th shot, so this became the 9th shot. Pardon the flash in the lower right corner of the phone screen, but I was too lazy to get out the tripod. And I forgot I could take screen shots on my phone. See how difficult it is to grow old? Ain’t no graceful about it. The app records speed, custom profiles, calibres and gives multiple readouts depending on what you require. Store and save your data, or export it to use in other programs. The App can call out the numbers as you shoot, so no need to take your eye off your target. After the last shot I looked at the icons at the bottom of the screen. What would I like to see? I’d like to see the first string, because at this point, that’s what I’m interested in. So I touched the Shot String icon with my finger and the string came up. Note: We will not be able give any guarantees of function or liability, neither will we be able to give any support to 3D printing.The chronograph uses Bluetooth to connect to an iOS or Android app, as well as to the separately available FX Digital Chronograph Display, and shows information such as FPS, shot strings, extreme spread, standard deviation, and more, while also allowing users to store profiles for multiple rifles. It uses Doppler radar technology, so it works in all weather conditions and does not require light to operate. Battery life is not great (relative to other consumer electronics like phones) but it is not bad either. I just turn the unit off if I am not shooting, it only takes a couple of seconds to reconnect to the phone.

You do require a Smart Phone, which is up to date in the last few years to run the app that connects to the unit. This is also true for any firearm. Yes, no sensitivity settings needed as it seamlessly reads any projectile between 400 to 4000 fps without pressing any button. It's important to know that due to state and local laws, there are certain restrictions for various products. While FX is an airgun manufacturer and states it on the chronograph, you know someone is going to try it on a firearm. Do they specifically say on the box not to put it on a firearm? Are these special heat resistant rubber bands that can be used on a hot firearm barrel? Just curious? Convenience We learned when we looked at the FX Dreamlite rifle that FX doesn’t do paper manuals very well. But not with this chronograph, because it has no paper manual at all. I went online to the Pyramyd AIR manuals (in the resources section) thinking the manual had just been left out of the box. No — there is no manual — as in none, nada, kein, ingen! Use two stout rubber bands to wrap around the barrel and slip the ends over pegs on the chronograph feet. Rifles like the AirForce TalonSS are naturals for mounting. Rifles with slimmer barrels like the S510XS I’m using today may require a second wrap of the rubber bands.
