About this deal

It comes with that large 9L capacity dustbin, fantastic reach, and has multiple attachments included. If you’re looking for a sturdy vacuum cleaner with a huge capacity, large cleaning radius and strong suction, the Numatic Hetty HET 160 is an option to consider – especially if your home has mainly hard floors. It’s also a reliable machine, so you probably won’t need to worry about it breaking down. litres dry dust bin capacity, which is a huge amount of space. Wet, the Charles holds 9 litres. An easy-to-operate switch goes between the two. We don’t think it provides value for money if you have pets or lots of carpets in your home though. There are better vacuums available for these tasks in a similar price range. Tools and Accessories

Once again, the dusting brush is simply pushed onto the end of the universal adapter, and then you can choose whether to use one, two, or all three of the extension tubes (or none at all) depending upon the reach that you need. This brush seems to be made up of lots of soft bristles that really agitate the dust down into the hose without having to use much force at all, which is great for these delicate items. There is a switch on the top of the Hetty that turns her on, which is illuminated when she is plugged into the mains. Cable Length As the name suggests, the Henry Xtra is just like the regular Henry but a little bit more. He comes with a host of different accessories and features which means he can cope with just about any job going. In terms of its size, this hoover is fantastic for small home owners. It’s light, portable, and the form factor of the vacuum is fairly cube-shaped. There’s also on-board storage for extension tools, meaning they’re less easily lost in that storage cupboard you rarely tidy. When shopping for a small home you have less mess – but less storage space. For this we suggest the Henry Micro, which will do a great job while fitting snugly into small spaces. What’s a Numatic Henry? How does the Hetty differ from the Henry – if at all? And how does it compare to other cylinder vacuum cleaners? Let’s find out! Speaking of the upholstery brush, this is the attachment that is best suited for cleaning chairs, sofas, car seats, and stairs. Basically, anything that has a pretty flat surface that is too small to use the main floor tool should be vacuumed using the upholstery brush. I found it really effective on the stairs, as the bristles are great at agitating the dust and dirt whilst also reaching the very corner of the steps. Upholstery Brush Before and After The PETH200-11 is the pet version of the Hetty. It’s a more expensive vacuum cleaner, but comes with an EcoBrush for cleaning pet hair from carpets. The addition of a powered brush makes the vacuum much more effective for hair and stubborn dirt, so we recommend the PETH200-11 if you have pets. The Harry is the best in the range for cleaning up pet hair. It comes with a special brush attachment meant to lift hair and an activated charcoal filter which will draw out dirt and neutralize foul smelling pet pongs. Where do Henry Vacuums come from?

The crevice tool is attached to the hose using the univeral adapter (which comes in the box), and all it takes is a bit of a push to jam everything together. Once you turn the Hetty on with this tool attached, it is significantly louder than with just the regular floor head attached, so this is not an attachment to use when the kids are asleep next door. However, this increase in decibels is simply due to the fact that all of that power is now being funneled through a very slim attachment, which means that the suction power through this crevice tool is immense.

Car Cleaning

Henry’s little sister is Hetty. She comes with all the same features as Henry, but the introduction of Eco technology helps you to save the planet and your wallet at the same time. A smaller size means she’s easier to store, but a 9-litre bag capacity, means there’s plenty of dust storage room. It might sound like a complex term regarding suction or energy efficiency, Numatic International are the manufacturers of the Henry. Incidentally, although known as Henry Hoovers, they aren’t Hoovers by brand. A true design icon, the Numatic Henry is a vacuum cleaner that’s loved by thousands – including professional cleaners. And all for good reason: it offers a large capacity, it’s well priced, it cleans well, and has a reputation for lasting forever. Here on review I have the latest version of the Numatic Henry. It doesn’t stray too far from previous models, but has been designed to meet vacuum cleaner power limits. The Harry has won Which? Best Buy awards for basically being brilliant. It’s good enough at removing pet hair that they give it their stamp of approval.

The Henry range have tremendous amounts of colour to them – but only one (very distinctive) style. If it has that big happy face, if the nose is the vacuum hose, and if it perpetually, moronically, and frustratingly never stops grinning? It’s a Henry.

Yes, certain models are able to clean things like your drains, standing water, or any spillages in the kitchen or bathroom. The Charles and the George are both made to be wet and dry vacuum cleaners. While the George also cleans carpets and upholstery, the Charles is able to sook up spillage without exploding. I have allergies. Do Henry have a vacuum cleaner I can use?

Henry is the stalwart of this range: tough, durable and easy to use. There may be lighter and sleeker models available, but it is by no means too cumbersome and its impressive storage capacity, means you’ll have plenty of time before you need to change the bags. While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape The dirt capacity of the Hetty 160-11 is 6 litres. This makes it one of the largest we’ve reviewed, so you won’t need to empty it as often. On the flip side, it’s a bulky cleaner (dimensions of 34.5cm x 32cm x 34 cm) that can feel difficult to move around the home. There are also only two castor wheels combined with two fixed wheels, so it’s not as manoeuvrable as models with four castors. Even though the Hetty does require bags – which, on paper, might look like a bit of a concession – we found it to be surprisingly more convenient to empty than the Dyson hoover we regularly use. With bagless vacuums, it’s easy to accidentally spill and even breathe dust when you’re trying to empty them. Thanks to the way the bags have been designed, they’re sealed before they ever leave the hoover, meaning that you’ll be much less likely to have those kinds of issues. Closing Thoughts

James

However, this is not a high-end machine, and it does require a little elbow grease to get good results. The attachments really are well designed, and as long as you are able to swap between them as you move around your home, you’ll be very pleased with the results. We don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say the Numatic Henry is one of the most well-loved British vacuum cleaners. But did you know that the Henry Hoover family has expanded in recent years? Hetty has a useful handle attachment, meaning you can attach the tools you need when cleaning and access them nice and easily. Some Hetty models come with an extra extension hose, which enable you to take the suction point right to the top of the stairs with Hetty sat at the bottom. Even if you don’t get the extra extension hose, Hetty already has a very long hose that is longer than most cylinder vacuums. The handle can be folded down for storage. This isn’t a major feature, but makes the vacuum a bit easier to store.
