About this deal

Note 1: Studio monitors are sold individually, so don't cause yourself grief buy accidentally buying only 1 studio monitor you either need to set the "Quantity" to 2 in the basket or you can buy a bundle like I did Thomann.de have a bundle which include the following: you get 2 studio monitors, 2 x UK power cords are included free and 2 pads for reducing vibration are also included for free.

One ends up relying on decibel measuring apps, which end up being a sonic goose chase to configure the sweet spot. Re-engineered from the ground up, the KRK ROKIT RP5 G4 is the product of 30 years of monitor innovation. A powerful D-class amplifier drives speakers evenly, delivering efficient performance far beyond its price.

Lastly the ROKIT 5 G4 has great headroom—it can really crank, and does so with great clarity and low distortion. Here I noticed that when compared to the older models, as it went from moderate to loud, it did not compress or collapse in on itself.

At first glance, it may not seem that a lot changed in the design of the updated KRK Rokit 5 G4 studio monitor models. The width, depth, and height of the cabinets are very similar to the G3, but the G4 speakers are quite a bit lighter. With the KRK Rokit RP5 G4, you also get very good tuning options. This provides great flexibility and will equip you with the power to control the quality of sound you are getting. Across the frequencies, you further get very good sound. The Rokit RP5 G4 has great balance and spreads well across highs, lows, and Mids. The volume knob on the monitors is at 10-15%, if I crank the volume knob on the audio interface, it becomes way too loud (hello neighbors), so these monitors WILL get loud, but unless you overdo it - they are perfectly tame for normal levels. Studio monitors are in big part a matter of personal taste, but the KRK Systems Rokits have always had their solid spot amongst the popular choices of entry-level audiophiles, producers, and DJs.However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. Also, the punchiness that comes out of the monitors gives the balnaced sound a nice heft to it. That seems to be a common benefit of smaller speakers. As mentioned, I was sent the new ROKIT 5 G4 and I am fortunate enough to still have access to the ROKIT 5 G2 that I reviewed in April 2008, and the G3 reviewed in December 2013. I set all of the models up side-by-side in my studio to my Drawmer MC3.1 monitor controller, and used a level meter and test tones to match levels. Note 2: The instrument cables (XLR, TRS or RCA cables) are not included, they have to be added to the basket. I left all the adjustments at factory settings for a flat response - I will need to get my ears used to all the sounds I've not been hearing on any other monitors before making any changes. I did disable the Sleep Mode, however after other reviewers comments.

The Rokit series from KRK have been incredibly popular over the years for providing high quality sound at an affordable price point. With the Rokit now on its 4th generation KRK are carrying on this winning formula whilst continuing to improve on an already impressive monitor.

Features

These are vital to any home studio monitor, as they help in reducing the vibrations coming from the monitors. If untreated, these can bleed through into the professional monitor stands or onto the desk. With the Yamahas, while they don't deliver as much bass, their sound quality is more even across the frequency range, which is actually what you want. While you might consider adding a sub woofer (like the BS8S) to extend the bass, the rest of the response is crystal clear and defined with the mids and highs almost effortlessly translating, whereas switching to the KRKs makes the same music sound slightly 'boxed in'. The Yamahas also boast a few extra watts of power which should suit them to slightly bigger spaces if required. Right off the bat, the KRK Rokit 5 G4 monitors sound impressively full sounding. The amount of bass that comes out of the 5-inch speakers is astounding and unexpected from woofers of this size. The KRK Rokit 5 G4’s sweet spot is wide enough to move around and still enjoy an accurate sound immersion.

There are many guides on the internet - however, here is why everyone on the internet drags on in endless arguments (and for a good reason) about the perfect positioning of the monitors and doing the room preparing. Where Yamaha studio monitors are often famed for their white bass drivers, so KRKs have a distinctive yellow one, but KRK monitors are not just about looks, as their sound has won them fans across the world in both amateur and professional studios. Soft-dome tweeter with optimised waveguide provides smooth, pristine and articulate highs up to 35kHz One of the most impressive features definitely has to be the Kevlar woofer and tweeter that is installed in the Rokit RP5 G4 studio monitor. This woofer provides great sonics for the studio monitor and is a common installation in state-of-the-art studio monitors that are looking to make a name for themselves. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered

Conclusion

That is not the case with the Rokits, and it is very handy that KRK has this function on point. EQ Customization Every aspect of the KRK ROKIT RP5’s design is engineered to ensure perfectly balanced sound. A robust speaker enclosure and front-firing port deliver extended low-end as well as the possibility for varied room positioning. The ROKIT RP5’s speakers minimise vibration and improve clarity. Separated from the casing surface by iso-foam pads, the RP5 maximises speaker efficiency.
