About this deal

Oath is hard to use for a multi-phased army: Make no mistake, as much as there are many viable combat options present for Dark Angels, this is still 10th Edition. You are going to run shooting elements of some (and often many) stripe. What that is depends a little bit on what you’re trying to build to beat, but Aggressors, Desolation Marines, and Inceptors (as well as some more exotic fare) all show up regularly in well performing Dark Angels lists. Oath of Moment is a resource, not an army wide buff. It’s on you as the player using it to figure out if you need to save it for your melee, or if you can pump up your shooting phase to full effect. In the earlier stages of the game where you’re not charging this is a lot easier, but knowing the breakpoints where you need it to make a crucial combat happen and where you can skip it will improve your performance significantly. Must Have Dark Angels Units In conjunction with the Land Speeders of the Ravenwing's Support Squadron, the Land Speeder Vengeance has proven its worth on the battlefield time and time again, able to keep pace with the fastest of the Ravenwing's vehicles and deliver devastating volleys from its deadly Plasma Storm Battery.

Relic Terminator Squad: B Tier: Not terrible, but the options on the regular ones or especially the Deathwing ones are better. At least they are slightly cheaper. The Land Speeder Tempest is unique for being fully enclosed, forgoing the Land Speeder's long-range patrol role to become a dedicated gunship. [1b]Predator ( Annihilator • Destructor • Baal) • Land Raider ( Phobos • Crusader • Redeemer • Achilles • Prometheus • Terminus Ultra • Ares • Excelsior • Wrath of Mjalnar • Angel Infernus • Solemnus Aggressor • Anvilarum) • Vindicator Laser Destroyer • Repulsor • Repulsor Executioner • Gladiator • Astraeus The Lion isn’t as good as he looks: For 380 Points, it’s very difficult to justify that much on a model that controls as little space as the Lion does. While in Gladius he can advance and charge, and he will absolutely mow down most things he touches, his low wound count and middling resiliency for his points can often leave him on cleanup duty or struggling to cross the board in the face of armies with guns bristling. Definitely a fun unit and one that’s reasonably viable, but not one to expect to see on top tables any time soon. Primaris Lieutenant: A Tier: Another very solid buff character, and can pair with a Captain or Chapter Master. Lethal Hits is just a nice ability to add to just about any unit, and lets said unit punch above its weight. Works well with Azrael or Lazarus to further enhance the units they lead. Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: Ravenwing Talonmaster Land Speeder - While Supreme Grand Masters of the Unforgiven willingly accepted Lieutenant rank, outlined in the revised Codex Astartes, within their Battle and Reserve Companies, they decided to modify the role to meet the needs of the Unforgiven’s specialised 2nd Companies. As such, the equivalent to a Lieutenant in the Ravenwing and other such companies is known as a Talonmaster. The Talonmaster is goes to battle in a modified Land Speeder outfitted with additional Auspex scanners and vox-casting mechanisms, it is a Talonmaster’s role to help direct the Ravenwing’s fire, using his equipment to ensure no quarry can hide from his battle-brothers.

It is believed that Mankind once made much wider use of anti-gravity technology like the Aeldari during the Dark Age of Technology, yet in the late 41st Millennium it is almost a lost art. While the xenos Aeldari and T'au make use of far-superior anti-gravitic technology, it is forbidden for any Magos of the Machine Cult to study these devices, and any caught doing so usually receive the harshest sanctions. The Adeptus Mechanicus has not yet publicly released the technical specifications of the Ravenwing Dark Shroud. Like much of the Dark Angels and other Unforgiven Chapters' vehicles, the Darkshroud's presence is likely not known to many in the Imperium, due to their secretive and secluded nature. Releasing such technical specifications of their Chapter's vehicles could very well reveal the Dark Angels' hoarding of sacred Standard Template Construct databases, which they have repeatedly denied having in their possession. All other Loyalist Space Marine Legions - The Loyalist Space Marine Legions and their Successor Chapters, including the Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, and Salamanders, made use of the Land Speeder during the Great Crusade era, and most still do in the 41st Millennium. Librarian in Terminator Armor: A Tier: Another great character option for Terminator units. Sustained Hits is a great buff for regular shooty Termies, as they carry Storm Bolters and can take Assault Cannons with lots of shots, so plenty of chances to proc those extra hits. It does work in melee too, of course. The Land Speeder is lightly armoured - indeed the power armour of its Space Marine crew provides them with more protection - instead relying on its speed and maneuverability to avoid enemy fire. [2] Its primary armament is a Heavy Bolter, although this is replaced in some Land Speeders with a Multi-Melta for anti-armour firepower. [1f] Battlefield Role

I haven't started assembling them yet, but for the moment I'm leaning toward the Thunderstrike for the first one, and likely the Hammerstrike for the second. Although depending upon how easy it is, I might build them to swap weapons like the Invader ATVs can. And as always, Frontline Gaming sells Games Workshop product at up to 25% off of retail, every day! Land Speeder: C Tier: Expensive for what you get; it does make other units in your army with Blast weapons hit better and ignore cover against a single target (great for Whirlwinds or Desolation Squads). If you run a fair amount of indirect stuff, grab one or two of these. Company Master ( Primaris Master) • Lieutenant ( Primaris Lieutenant • Vanguard Lieutenant • Deathwing Strikemaster • Ravenwing Talonmaster) • Interrogator-Chaplain • Chaplain ( Primaris Chaplain • Judiciar) • Librarian ( Primaris Librarian) • Apothecary ( Primaris Apothecary • Ravenwing Apothecary • Deathwing Apothecary) • Techmarine ( Primaris Techmarine) • Chapter Ancient • Company Ancient ( Primaris Ancient • Ravenwing Ancient) • Chapter Champion • Company Champion ( Deathwing Champion • Ravenwing Champion) • Ravenwing Command Squad • Deathwing Command Squad

Ironclad Dreadnought: C Tier: Oddly it's cheaper than the box dread, but it's better in almost every way. Still not very good, mind you, but not terrible. Centurion Devastator Squad -0 = 55 all weapons are -5, so 65 with 1x Grav, 75 with 2x HB, 85 with 2x Las

How to Score Points with Dark Angels

Ravenwing Master-Crafted Land Speeder Sableclaw - The Ravenwing master-crafted Land Speeder known as Sableclaw is a unique variant of the Land Speeder used only by Master ( Captain) Sammael of the Dark Angels Chapter's 2nd Company, which is known as the Ravenwing. The Master of the Ravenwing's Land Speeder is heavily armed with twin Heavy Bolters and twin-linked Assault Cannons. In addition, this specialised pattern of Land Speeder is equipped with superior targeting equipment and a protective Void Shield generator. Overall the Dark Angels have a wealth of options that they add to a fairly generic Gladius Task Force through their units. How to Score Points with Dark Angels x88 components that can be used to assemble either a Land Speeder Vengeance or a Ravenwing Darkshroud, two versatile vehicles used by the Space Marines. Considering the incredible mental and physical strain of achieving such bewildering manoeuvres at maximum speeds, the fact that few Land Speeders are lost to pilot error can be solely attributed to the superhuman reactions, training and stamina of the Space Marines who crew them.
