About this deal

There is one image which immediately comes to my mind with this: shotgunning cigar smoke into a kiss by someone who just ate a crème brûlée...scrumptious. She too has noted how Tom Ford fragrances differ substantially in smell depending on the quantity applied, and I think her observations are useful, along with the ever-helpful comparisons to her beloved Amber Absolute: Only in the course then the rose comes out with me. No soft, bright but a somewhat coarse and slightly "dirty" rose. Paired with this oud accord from the opening of the fragrance, this becomes a very spicy composition, which is completed in the drydown by earthy patchouli. Silk. No. Maybe it is. I was sceptical - but it was love at first sight. What's behind that scent is the mysterious. It is not a deep secret that this fragrance carries - but it is the mysterious, it is the thoughtful, it represents for me the multi-faceted and at the same time complicated human being. Whoever wears this fragrance doesn't necessarily want to please - and yet he does. This fragrance is literally a veil, a dark and romantic companion. And by romanticism I don't mean the eroticism of a cuddly scent, it is the romanticism of the ambivalence of being human. The human being who is searching for meaning, and not despairing - no, he feels comfortable in this search.

Oud Fleur, as a whole, has one major problem that runs through Tom Ford's entire Prive Blend line. The naming. Really, this fragrance is not floral in my eyes. Sure, it has a floral approach due to the rose, which becomes one of the main components over time. But the entire fragrance is so much more trimmed towards spices and oud by its make that the epithet "Fleur" should have been left out here. "Oud Spice" would have been a better and more appropriate name for this fragrance. This floral heart is enhanced with ginger CO2, cardamom seed oil ORPUR, cinnamon bark Laos ORPUR and pimento berry. The composition is completed with a touch of Geranium Egypt ORPUR, tagette, osmanthus, davana oil and a date accord.Sometimes it is enough to pause for a moment and enjoy. Existence, life, love and the feeling of not having to have an answer to everything.

Ombré Leatheris the scent of a posh footwear shop where there's more footwear being tried on than is strictly necessary; one can almost imagine, the foot worship there has a fetish-y touch. "Touch" — funny word — because Ombré Leatherfeels tactile and perfect to bring to bed, if you're after that sort of thing. Which makes me wonder just how many thought of it this way, when our readers voted for it as Best Men's Fragrance in 2019 Fragrantica Readers Awards! Hehehe. :) Even if individual chords over and over again remind of the spicy, striking Booziness paired with pipe tobacco and exotic oud, and other chords quite evoke associations with the most seductive rose that the house of Ford has to offer, Oud Fleur does something quite brilliant in the later course:On the other hand, those who liked By Kilian‘s Playing with the Devil (In The Garden of Good and Evil) would probably like Oud Fleur quite a bit. For me, Tom Ford accomplished what Kilian Hennessey failed to do, creating a fruity-floral with a bit of a fiery, spicy bite (the Devil) that turns into soft, creamy, floral woodiness (Goodness in the Garden). By the same token , women who enjoy soft fruity-florals and don’t like oud may greatly enjoy Oud Fleur. Men who are looking for a more woody twist on creamy florals with some cozy sweetness in the base may feel the same way. You should, however, listen to the die-hard Oud Wood and Amber Absolute fan when she tells you that Tobacco Oud won’t satisfy your oud itch, and that it won’t measure up to Oud Wood or Amber Absolute for anyone who is truly passionate about either fragrance. I couldn’t agree more. Tobacco Oud isn’t a bad perfume, but, as this discussion should make clear, it’s incredibly generic and wholly unoriginal. Part of Tom Ford's exclusive Private Blend line for 2016 presented the four new interpretations of the classic "green" notes in perfumery: Vert d'Encens, Vert de Bois, Vert Bohème, and Vert de Fleur.

I couldn't resist starting with Tobacco Vanille, because it's among the most popular of the designer, and for good reason. It relies on popular themes, done superbly, and it leans sweet, which is very in vogue for both men and women nowadays. tobacco oud? this is more amber absolute with just a bit of spices. nice scent and good sillage and longevity. We believe that animal testing is unacceptable. We recognise that customer safety is of importance but that this can be assured without the use of animals. I have to say that, to me, Tom Ford Noirfeels like the snuggliest body powder imaginable, a fantasy of a groomed body waiting to be ravaged. Delicious on clothing too, with its lingering balsamic and lightly animalic notes. It takes some getting used to, for men raised on butch "blue" scents of the latest crop, but it's so worth it. I love this on men, and it gets so rarely worn, compared to others in the line, which is a shame. To me the domineering note of Vert d'Encensis the pine resin, which couples with the incense to give a far-away-lands atmosphere; like I would imagine one standing in Kransnoyarsk, Russia, instead of Corsica, with the river bringing on an odd freshness, and the smoky fires within and the central heating belying the outside cold. It's one fragrance that really benefits from the cold outside, when its warmth rises forth and makes the heart grow fonder. The rose is thereby full-bodied, mysterious, dirty and so not at all sweet and tender. No, the is not only here to play - To fight but also not.

Step into a world of indulgence as the rich, velvety notes of Oud Fleur caress your senses, leaving an unforgettable impression. This captivating fragrance is a harmonious blend of rare oud wood, precious spices, and luxurious floral accords, creating a truly intoxicating olfactory experience. Seasonally, this is a colder weather scent. Though, in a temperate climate, it wouldn’t be too out of place. I would avoid the heat. It does have good versatility, as it can go formal, or serve as a romantic wear. It has more of an elegant profile, but I wore it casually, without it feeling too out of place. The sillage of Oud Fleur is pretty strong, but not insanely so. For a few hours, it will project itself very well, and is moderate thereafter. Definitely, wasn’t a weak perfume, on my skin. Among the many scents inspired by this mystical material, Tom Ford's Santal Blush is a gorgeous, clean, dry, and creamy sandalwood fragrance with an immediate message of sensuousness and no boozy aftertaste. Both beautiful and wearable, it was composed by talented perfumer Yann Vasnier. This first half feels very rosy to me. I’m not sure how many times, that I’ve had to test out a oud and rose combo fragrance, but it’s getting repetitive. This one, however, is actually one of the better examples I must say. With an established je ne sais quoi about the brand, one needs to explore deeper into the scents themselves. Do they deliver the fantasy? Private Blend Oud Fleur is composed around an oud wood core, amplified with additional woody notes: patchouli, sandalwood, incense, styrax, cistus, a leather accord, ambergris and castoreum.
