About this deal

We would not recommend this for outdoor use, but it will be fine in a shed (as long as it does not getwet)

I bought this item and connected it up. It charges on bulk charge 0.87 amps then drops to maintain at 0.25 amps. I left it on for two days, the battery shows 12.8 volts plus, but it won't turn the engine over enough to start. If I use my old style car charger it will charge up ok but doesn't hold the charge for more than a few days even with the oximiser attached. Anyadvice? November 6, 2017 So, I need a charger that I can swap between bikes to leave running for 48 hours to charge ’em up and then swap to another of the five bikes in our shed. Oh, and because we both work mostly from home now, I also need something that can top-up the car battery too, because that sits mostly outside in all weathers. The other important point to consider is, depending on the brand, age, condition, and number of 'life cycles' for the offending battery it may be BER (Beyond Economical Repair). Bin the Oximiser and buy a Ctek. Then you know you have definitely eliminated a potential problem. Cheap battery conditioners are a false economy. Oxford products are built down to a price and only exist to provide dealers with a profit margin.

There are several chargers from CTEK in this list, and this CS ONE option is the top dog of the range. It's a smart charger that can repair, maintain, charge and detect bad cells, as well as a host of other features. The Oximiser is designed to be plugged in and left on to maintain a battery, and so should really have been plugged in before leaving the bike for two weeks. The charger will go through cycles(recover, bulk charge and maintain) and two hours would not be long enough to give the battery a full charge. If this had been left on over night you should find that the battery would be fullycharged. Smart charging is all about monitoring the battery condition, applying the correct rate of charge at the right time to keep the battery healthy but also to optimise power consumption by a unit designed to be left plugged-in. And this one from CTEK is superbly clever. Not only does it do everything you'd expect: charging, recovering, conditioning and maintaining whatever vehicle battery you connect it to (and yes, it does them all, from Lead Acid to Lithium-ion in all wet, AGM, Gel and other forms) – it does it without any programming from you.

I have bought a new battery and need pour in the acid to activate it and then charge it. Will this charger work for thispurpose? February 23, 2017 This smart charger from Ring does basically all batteries except lithium and features a seven-stage charging process that's supposed to be kinder on your battery. Absorption Charge - Lowers the charge rate & gives a topping charge to ensure the battery is charged to 100%

The solution, of course, is to leave your bike with its battery on charge when it’s not being used. This is particularly true for bikes that are laid up for winter, and in this case, a battery optimiser/maintainer can be useful, as it not only charges the battery but it carries out a series of conditioning cycles. Permanent connector cable for all Oxford battery chargers. Ideal for use if you want to leave a cable ... Battery chargers have come a long way in the last 10 years. Time was you needed a different unit for your bike from your car and the charging technology was clumsy and a bit ‘brute-force’. Smart chargers changed all that and many, like this one, have algorithms that assess the condition of your battery and apply the optimal charging cycle to keep it healthy. The oxford 3x is oxford's most versatile, most powerful, multi purpose battery maintenance product. It offers not one ...How are these with the outdoors? If I were to use it in my shed that doesn't offer a sealed environment away from the cold, would itcope? November 21, 2017 Knowing what the Oximiser 3X is doing in each cycle allows me to now use it properly and leave it connected for long enough to go through the full cycles; I find it simple to understand what's going on and what state my batteries are in" - Bike Social by Bennetts Once fully charged the Oximiser 3X stops charging and monitors the battery for an hour to establish if can hold a full charge. The ‘Maintain’ light flashes during this period. If the battery can’t hold its charge the ‘weak battery’ light comes on and the Oximiser 3X will keep charging until the battery is able to hold a charge. If it still fails to do so after three charges, the ‘weak’ light flashes and charging stops. Why even consider using an oxford charger if you have a good LiPo charger? most will do Pb, and do it far better than even the top end automotive poo.
