An AFM image of OLED/Al 2O 3/SiN x/IZO, which has an R q value of 2.7 nm, is shown in Fig. 1f. Energy level diagram of the intermediate layers (Al 2O 3 and SiN x) and adjacent electrodes (LiF/Al/Ag and IZO), based on ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) measurements and reference papers 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 is shown in Supplementary Fig. 6a. The LiF/Al/Ag (4.6 eV), and IZO (4.3 eV) work functions were obtained from UPS spectra in the cutoff region (Supplementary Fig. 6b). As shown in the energy level diagram, Al 2O 3 and SiN x have large band gaps, and the locations of their conduction or valence bands were far from the electrode work functions.
