About this deal

Bank holiday on Monday, so I don’t expect it to arrive until later next week, but here what I have on the way: If you go brushless, any tips? I don't have soldering kit and all that (but probably will in due course if the kids take to it) Do any come with Tamiya (rather than Lipo connectors? I had a great combo from Orion - Vortex I think - on my 2010 Ansmann Pro which was ready to install out of the box.

The offset is essentially 0 as I recall and I should be able to switch the rear hex adapters for the Lunchbox rear adapters without modification.

Thank you for signing up!

The DT-02 gearbox seems to be flexible enough to fit a wide range of wheel and tire sizes based on the number of different boots that Tamiya have trown on the chassis. Steering – Steering is fairly straightforward with a direct drive steering servo and adjustable tie rods for adjusting camber. Fixed uprights don’t allow for caster adjustment but the geometry out of the box is good and should give good performance in most driving conditions. The Tamiya R/C Aqroshot - DT-03T Model Kit is the first kit to be released with the new DT-03T chassis and is the latest addition to the Tamiya range of radio controlled off road vehicles.

That's all for now. A Monster Racer shell is hopefully inbound in the next couple of weeks, now I think I'll need to wait a bit to recover from the expense, more of which is no doubt to come! Required for completion; 2 Channel Radio System, 1 Servo, Battery and Charger, Polycarbonate Paint for the Body, Tools for assembly and Glue for the Tyres. Also, with its choice of only two pinion options, the DT-02 'box is hardly what I'd call flexible in terms of gearing. I would guess this is why the models Tamiya have released on the DT-02/DT-03 platform have all had buggy-diameter wheels/tyres. Bearing Upgrade: These make the car run more smoothly and are easily installed during assembly. If there is no option for these shown, then the kit already includes the bearing upgrade as standard. These are entirely optional.

Also included is a brand new (still wrapped up) Racing Fighter shell with decals and front and rear DT03 buggy wheels again new and never used. All you need to convert to a buggy is some tyres.

The construction and design of the car is simple and very strong. The car is designed with a gathering of parts from other cars. Ive really been struggling with a price as it's got more than it's original value in upgrades, spares etc.

Interesting - I don't see any irregularities with the front camber. Since the chassis uses the fixed-length upper arms from the DT-02, I wouldn't have thought it would be an issue. I have no idea how this will turn out or even if the plan will work. The WT01 has always been a favourite basher of mine, I'd like to recreate the robustness of the WT01 with something a little more precise and well balanced.

First up, the unceremonious opening of the box, as has become typical of Tamiya of late, these space saving boxes seem to be the norm, it's a pity but I guess it keeps the costs down on the lesser kits...

Modelsport Starter Bundles

Oh hey, look at this rear suspension arm on the front. Seems a little large-ish so I suppose I ought to swap it out. Despite it being a Bitsa, I rather like it, and hope to add it to my fleet one day. However one thing worries me a bit about it - the wheel/tyre combo consists of tyres that are the same front and rear, on wheels that are wider at the rear than at the front. As you can see in the photo, the rear wheels are wider than the tyres, and the resultant angled sidewalls look a bit odd to my eye. The platform is intended as an easy-to-get-started model to encourage young drivers to enter the world of R/C. While driving it on the street and in the park, the rear wheels spin a lot. Which results in a difficult to control car spinning around as soon as you hit the throttle. Of course it is possible to slowly put on the power, but that's not the way it should be. Running on grass is not possible at all. I've been putting this off for awhile but as it's not getting any use these days my Aqroshot is now up for sale.
