Trivia [ ] I didn’t remember a single thing that happened in A Touch of Darkness or anything about the characters, and it did not matter. Reading this book felt like watching a random episode of a mediocre tv show you’ve never seen before. You’re able to follow the plot, but you’ll probably never think about it again. the story of hades and pershone always intrigued me and this book just made it worse. i loved everything about this book from beginning to end. the modernization of the gods and goddesses. the way the gods are able to walk among the mortals. beautiful. chef's kiss. A Touch of Darkness strays from the typical writing style of the genre by utilizing a third-person POV. Admittedly, this took some time to adjust to as I generally prefer dual POV in the first person but by the end of the third chapter I was hooked. Persephone is a fascinating female main character and from the beginning I found myself rooting for her. Those cheers only got louder the longer she spent in the Underworld.I also ended up liking Apollo too, I hope we get more of him in the next book and get to see him become an even better god! Cinder is a cyborg living in New Beijing – a city that is full of androids and humans alike. She is a mechanic whose stepmother criticizes her every move but when she meets Prince Kai, her life is upended. Overall, A Touch of Darkness was just not it. Not worth it & definitely not continuing with the series. I think my favourite thing is though that a lot of the side characters are important to the story and have an actual personality that made me love the relationship Persephone had with each of them.
