About this deal

Juniper, angelica, Orris root, coriander seeds, vanilla pods, cardamom, liquorice, orange, lemon and a secret ingredient Juniper, bergamot orange, lemon peel, cardamom pods, cassia bark, angelica root and coriander seeds Plymouth Gin uses its distillery as the heart of its gin, including food and drink tours around the distillery. The heritage of the brand is the most important to Plymouth Gin. Its plain grain botanicals are also used to help make the gin unique. The brand is very well-known in certain areas but fails to be as globally known as some others Wild Rose Hips is another one, and this is probably familiar to anyone who’s had a rose bush. It’s the fruit of said plant, and been used for jellies, teas and are very rich in vitamin C.

In a statement, Ungava founder and president Charles Crawford, said: “We are truly sorry that we’ve offended the Inuit community, as this was never our intent, nor does it align with our corporate values and beliefs. We are deeply sorry and we will do better.” Franco Buscemi, who lives in Iqaluit, the capital of Canada’s Nunavut territory, criticised the company’s “Inuit Survival Guide”, saying: “Here’s a tip … Don’t use Inuit as mascots to sell your product.” This is a typical British gin produced by the traditional English William Chase Distillery. The botanicals of this gin are organically grown. In particular, cider apples are fermented into cider and then distilled into a copper still named “Naked Chase”. A second distillation is done into Naked Chase with wild botanicals and pure, natural water

The gin arrives in squat rectangular bottle that I particularly like. Very classy. I love the syllabic characters of the Inuktitut tribe who live in the Ungava region. It is their word for the peninsula and means ‘towards open water’. Martin Miller’s Gin is the ‘England distilled, Iceland chilled’ gin. Its uniqueness comes from the producer’s love, obsession and madness for distillation and the use of Iceland spring water, which make this gin unique both on the nose and on the palate Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin is a small-batch botanical gin that can be considered the only gin inspired by love for gardening and the native Tuscan cuisine that make it smooth and delicious The nose is slightly sweet, a hint of lemon zest but a good deal of juniper. A hint of alcohol as well. Smells quite classic in character. The Ungava Peninsula, after which the gin is named, is to the top right of Hudson Bay is you were to look on a map. I’ve not been and frankly, as it’s described as a treeless tundra and sounds incredibly cold, I’m not going to rush there! Very happy to be corrected on that by anyone who has been – it’s likely stunningly beautiful like the rest of Canada.

Nº 209 Gin was born from the combination of modern sensibility and reverence for tradition. Among the premium brands, Nº 209 Gin provides a mix of affinity for the underdog, American ingenuity and hard work, all combined in the unique, cosmopolitan and slightly roguish city of San FranciscoAlthough the brand has put some emphasis on Tuscan cuisine, Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin cannot be recognized for a specific local character This English gin is also sold outside its domestic market, in countries including Australia, Italy, Norway, Spain and the US
