As a coffee enthusiast myself, I would not use this as I simply prefer the results from a good quality burr grinder. The hot plate is probably the biggest factor here, and contrary to popular belief, they’re not going to keep your coffee hot and fresh all day. In addition, the anti-drip mechanism really comes in handy during those times when you’re in a rush – as soon as you take the serving jug off the hot plate, the flow of coffee will stop, so that you can get on out the door as soon as you have enough coffee to suit your needs. How easy is it to use?The Andrew James Coffee Grinder is completely manually operated without the addition of a preset grind selector. Therefore, it's important to follow the instruction manual for recommended timings for the grind you're after. It's very easy to use and is a 'no frills' performer. In our tests, it ground beans fairly evenly but we found it did require a few shakes to assist it! It can also only grind for a maximum of 30 seconds at a time, so it's only worth buying if you're requiring small amounts ground at a time rather than in one go.
