Especially when he explodes. Five-Man Band: A strange, dark, and not exactly heroic example of this basically shapes the five main character interactions with the Paradoxial Night. Four Is Death: Four strangers decide to kill themselves in a suicide pact, and their antics inevitably brought forth the apocalypse. r/junjiito is dedicated to legendary award-winning horror mangaka Junji Itō (伊藤潤二) and friends like Kazuo Umezz (楳図かずお), Hideshi Hino (日野日出志), and other horror mangaka.The charm of this story for me is how the spirit world is presented and how souls are depicted as beautiful gems (dubbed as "Paradoxical Night"). These sphere-like jewels brims with life that is also capable of immense destruction. Definitely another great, but odd story written by Junji Ito. The reasoning behind my rating is that I expected it to have a different turn, that didn't sprout into pure – but fascinating – science fiction. I found the whole concept a little concerning, to be quite honest. During a goup suicide attempt, something goes wrong and one one of the group somehow ends up with a portal to another world in his stomach. Blah, blah, blah, gross stuff, blah, blah, blah, everyone goes a little insane, you know the drill. A suicide pact amongst four people twists and warps into a bizarre and heavy-handed parable about humanity's greed and its self-destructive pursuit of energy sources. It's all a little dumb and a little dull though, with wooden and shallow characters whose terrible fates could barely stir a shrug in me.

A seer and possibly the only unambiguously good character, she's soft-hearted and empathic, tries her best to save Piitan when his condition gets worse, and is the one who keeps the others alive and united. reason to read Manga online is the huge amount of material that is available. When you go to a comic store or Cast from Lifespan: At the ending, it's revealed that this is what will happen to humanity as the cost of rapid technological advancement. As the paradonite stones are the souls of humans both dead and alive, using them as energy will burn out the life of the humans themselves to the point of extinction. Though, as Maruso's future sight has seen, humanity will survive this, only because they will realize this effect before too long.
