About this deal

I don't think I really enjoyed this one as much. I love Aspen's character but I felt like I was basically rereading the Elite all over again. I didn't get much out of it as much as I did with The Prince. We spent most of the timing just going over what happened in the original books but never really getting anything new. At least, nothing new that was overly exciting. I wanted to know more about Lucy and Aspen's relationship because their romance came out of nowhere in the One. I had hoped that Kiera would've shed some light on when and how Aspen's "love" for Lucy triumphed over his love for America but I still didn't really see it. They only had about two scenes together in The Guard and they were nothing more than friendly conversation. I wanted to see that moment when Aspen KNEW he loved Lucy. But since we never really got that in The Guard or The Maid, I think I'll always feel that Aspen only ended up with Lucy for the sake of ending up with someone and having a happy ending. Even more critics will say romance isn’t realistic, that the stories don’t reflect reality. For one, there actually are people out there who have found their One True Love in a way they would describe as a “sweeping romance” or “fairytale love story.” For two, are you actually telling me that Fiction has to accurately reflect reality? Is that really an argument you want to make? Please, allow me to direct your attention to the entire speculative fiction genre umbrella, thrillers, action/adventures, medical fiction, westerns, and basically every fiction book that has ever been published and most of the memoirs. We don’t read books to read exactly the same things that happen in our real lives. Or, at least, I don’t. Nor anyone I personally know. But you do you, I guess?

BOOK RIOT If It Doesn’t Have an HEA (or HFN), It’s Not - BOOK RIOT

Somehow this story reminded me of Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall. It’s as hilarious, ridiculous, marvelous, glorious, and amorous. It’s also full of banter, and so vibrant and sweet, and sometimes almost over the top. But don’t let the tone of the writing fool you; there are heavier hitting topics underneath.Si por casualidad encuentran el libro Happily Ever After no duden en leer estas escenas. Es una lástima que no estén en los libros de historias cortas en español. Lucy is so sweet, her relationship with America was always pleasing to follow, and seeing her get a happy ending in The Maid was lovely. I have to admit though, Ms. Cass was much more subtle in her character development of Clarkson, but his need to control and his hard-handed threats are still shown through his interactions with others in this prequel. The cycle of violence rings loud and clear within the portrait of this royal family, but any suggestion that Clarkson is a victim rang on deaf ears with me. Amberly is the perfect little submissive, which is something I didn't really view her as in the series, but maybe I just forgot. Through Amberly's point of view, the two of them have a very promising future together, and they may very well be just what each other needs. The Queen gives quite a bit of insight into these two characters, and when compared to the series, does a great job of reinforcing the fairytale aspect of Maxon and America's love story. This novella is a wonderful addition to the series and I would recommend it to fans. Perfect for bookworms who fancy stepping out of their comfort zone and discovering highly rated new reads they may not have discovered themselves. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover with our box of 3 highly rated mystery books each month. Choose 2 or more of your preferred genres from: Gifted a 3 month subscription of the Book and Pamper box and the recipient loved it! The inclusion of a vegan treat and helping out an animal charity made this a special treat. I would highly recommend this company.

It made me realize that I never really had a reason to dislike Aspen. He’s actually quite sweet in this novella, I feel stupid for missing any of this personality in the main series. Not sure why I thought this was going to be another installment in the series. Just a heads up...it's not. Happily Ever After is a compilation of all the novellas and bonus scenes/epilogues in The Selection series and if you are up-to-date with reading the series then you have already read most of these. Die hard fans will likely love this one-stop shop for all the extras but I could have done without it. Don't mind me, just a little disgruntled. I should have read the synopsis first. Lesson learned.

Clarkson was evil. Everything he did was for power and for himself, not for the country. It was mentioned that if the Southern Rebels came to power, everything they would do would be for power.....Doesn't sound too different from Clarkson. I hate him from the bottom of my heart!!! The Queen - I thought this section was very interesting, but Amberly is very naive and the romance was so dry. It’s like one day they met, they next they get married. And also Amberly had no reason to be helplessly in love with Clarkson. I also hate how Clarkson chose the girl who listened to him the most...I find that a bit controlling. I wish we got a peek in Clarkson’s head.

Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass | Goodreads

Amberly never fails to demonstrate what an amazing mother she is. Getting more of her admirable qualities and love for her son is always welcome with me. I've had many business dealings with Happily Ever After Book Box and I have always found April to be really great at communicating. She really goes the extra mile with attention to detail to ensure her clients get the very best value. Now, let's move to the part where I talk about the defaults and errors of this book. The romance is shitty. Sorry for straight up calling it shitty, but it actually is. There are lots of moments of pinning and miscommunication. The main couple talk to each other about everything but their feelings. They have such an easy and funny banter going on, yet all in vain. They don't get together until the very last chapter or so. I know the characters are young, they aren't supposed to act with maturity...still it was too much for me to handle. They defeat the biggest evil, they rule the entire Kingdom, yet they act like the stupidest persons in the world. At times, I thought they (specially Arek) don't even deserve to be the rules (or King in Arek's case). The characters are easily forgettable and do not have much of any sorta personality. Truly underwhelming and disappointing. Pamper product – there will be a different product every month to give you a indulgent self treat e.g. bath bomb, face mask etc We believe that it is vital to take a break and make time for yourself away from those screens. Our book subscription box provides essentials needed for that all important self-treat and a bit of lovely escapism.

a cute story and one i did enjoy. but i cant help but think this could have been better if it had included all of the stuff that happened before the “after.” This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen. So This Is Ever After, has a unique angle that I enjoyed. It follows the heroes after they defeat the big villain and must decide what to do next with their lives. The protagonist, Arek, is a wilder version of king Arthur, and must choose a spouse or literally die. His Mage, Matt, is a serious and sensitive counter to the protagonist, and so hopelessly in love with his best friend. This is a slow burn, friends to lovers romcom, and I believe the book executes the tropes well. Much of the plot relies on the miscommunication trope, and things could easily be tied up with one simple conversation. If you love books with chaotic characters who are totally oblivious, this is definitely for you! My actual rating is 4.5 stars, but because of this soon-to-be-famous author’s pressure, I rounded it up to five mesmerizing stars. That missing half star is because the romance was the slowest of slow burns, and I wanted Arek and Matt to be together desperately! The longing and the pining were perfect, though! And a shoutout to Matt because he’s another one of those cute cinnamon rolls I love so much!
