As we increase the volume, we find the Katch G2’s room-filling sound neither loses clarity nor errs toward harshness either –no small achievement from something with such bijou proportions. I needed a break last week after being under the weather and overworked, so I took the DALI Katch G2 with me to the boardwalk and in the car. Every extra millimetre gained in internal depth is turned into true low-frequency reproduction, letting the woofer generate bass with only slight help from the DSP. Despite the limited baffle surface area, the woofer membrane is a relatively large 3.5. The outward turned cone is constructed from an aluminium membrane with a soft fabric dust cap. The stiff aluminium cone allows the woofer to move as much air a possible even at mid-range frequencies, and the combination of aluminium and fabric works to lower surface resonances, retaining detail and clarity. The design is a bit odd—the unique, narrow build makes it look like it's supposed to sit flat and fire audio upward, but that's not the case. Instead, the stylish speaker stands upright on four rubber feet.The Bluesound is far more affordable than its Italian rival but it doesn’t offer the same level of sound quality; it gets slightly frazzled more easily as you boost the volume or listen to more bass heavy music. DALI, Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries, was created in 1983 to meet the demands of Scandinavia's leading audio retail chain's customers, who were asking for loudspeakers that existing brands couldn't offer. DALI loudspeakers would offer outstanding performance and natural sound at competitive prices.
