About this deal

Then, if you want a double shot, you just press the button twice. So if you want a double shot made with 18g (which is my norm) you'd set the strength to 2, set the volume to a single espresso, then press the espresso button twice. There are pros and cons for both. Steel burrs generally start out sharper but lose their sharpness over time, while ceramic burrs don't start off as sharp, but the sharpness will never change. So ceramic burrs are good for longevity, although, they're also more fragile, if you accidentally grind a pebble, ceramic burrs are likely to come out worse than steel burrs would. You’ve also got up to 8 ounces (226 grams) of space to store your whole coffee beans. For a super automatic this compact, I expected the bean hopper’s capacity to be half that.

Use the Optiaroma function to set the quantity of ground coffee used. It is possible to select among 3 different settings: light, medium, strong. Press the button; the new setting will be saved with the first espresso brewing. To be honest, the only things that really disappointed me were the flimsy manual steam wand and the overall build quality. While the machine’s design feels well-conceived and all parts fit (almost) seamlessly, I couldn’t help but feel like something will end up breaking sooner rather than later. This was my only real niggle with the Magnifica, I just couldn't figure out why they didn't put numbers on these dials, especially with the strength dial, with numbers you can use to work out how many grams of coffee you're selecting to grind. With a stainless steel front panel, the Brera is an attractive appliance that wouldn’t look out of place in a professional environment. It’s not made entirely of steel, however, with plastic sides and primary control knob. While it’s a shame that these parts let down the quality feel of the rest of the machine, they aren’t a major problem and it still looks great on a kitchen work-surface.You also have plastic side panels. However, if you get the machine in silver, you might even be able to fool guests into thinking it’s all stainless steel! Capable and compact, the Brera delivers on performance and value. At just 10” wide and 12.4” tall, you’ll have no problem fitting this machine in your kitchen. When brewing, coffee is ground fresh using a 5 setting ceramic burr grinder, and you can tailor your desired strength to one of 3 settings. Based on your grind and strength, the Brera will automatically adjust its grind cycle to optimize the coffee dose for your extraction, becoming more accurate with each shot. You can also load pre-ground coffee directly into the group via the bypass doser. Descaler : https://www.gaggiadirect.com/cleaning-products.html#!/Gaggia-Liquid-Descaler/p/15014701/category=5922063

Memorising the amount to dispense: You have atleasttwo button that can be pre-set to measure the length of coffee. The default measurement is for an espresso on one button and long coffee on the other button. Some models have a medium coffee size. All these buttons can be re-programmed by the user as many times as you want. You can also press the coffee button twice to do a double shot of coffee.Find a swanky spot in your home for your new machine to live, preferably where the morning sun shine down on your new, personal barista.

Inspired by Italian design and craftsmanship, the Anima features a stainless steel front that will fit right at home in both traditional and modern kitchens. Stainless Steel Finishing However, the espresso it gives isn’t quite up to the standard of more advanced, more expensive machines. If you’re a real coffee snob then you should save up and go for the bigger guns. This is part of the magic of bean to cup machines. Though you may sacrifice a little of the quality – and a lot of the theater – found with a barista espresso maker, they are just far too easy to not love. The Gaggia Brera has a stainless steel front panel, giving it a professional look suitable also for environments outside the kitchen. The body is not entirely made of steel: the side panels and the control knob are plastic. Despite its large size, the Gaggia Brera is not very large in terms of water capacity (1.2 L) and grounds repository (8 servings).Arrived promptly. Good looking machine, only minus point was the fitting of a euro style plug. Removed this and replaced with UK. Filled the machine with Expresso Classico fom Macbeans. Filled with filtered water and was ready to go. The manual suggests that it will take 5 coffee’s for the machine to adapt to the coffee and grind setting, and I would say this is spot on. Shots 1 and 2 a little weak, No3 passable and number 4 was just about perfect. Milk frothing / heating had been a worry but not so. Frothed milk easily and that was using skimmed milk. Overall very pleased with the Brera.

You need to be prepared when using the Gaggia Brera, as whenever you turn it on it flushes the system, so you’ll need to have a waste water mug under the spout. Consumables go in the same place as on the Saeco Xsmall, with water on the left of the spout, waste coffee grounds on the right and roasted coffee beans in the top. You might be able to just about fit two fine porcelain cups underneath the nozzle at one time, but there’s certainly not room for chunky earthenware. Gaggia hasn’t made the leap to smartphone compatibility or apps yet, and the user interface completes the retro vibe this machine is striving for. It’s not as high-tech as some of the display interfaces I’ve seen on other Gaggia machines. However, it’s also not hard to operate either. For one of the best entry level super automatics, I really can’t ask for more. Adjustable Coffee Dosage,Bypass Doser,Cup Volume Control,Energy Saving Design,Low-Water Warning,Pre-Infusion,Programmable Brewing Granted, you do have options like the Philips Carina. However, that runner-up doesn’t really float my boat. The compact Brera trades angled sides for rounded corners, which gives this machine a softer aesthetic. You can set the grinder to a required grind setting between coarse and fine. Gaggia Naviglio, Brera and Anima have 5 settings to choose from. 5 being the coarsest and 1 being the finest. On the Velasca models you have 10 settings. You will find more on the Babila and Accademia. You can also use the Gaggia Brera with ground coffee. This is essential for people who like to drink their coffee decaff and will come in handy for anybody who has a favorite ground coffee that they want to turn into lovely, creamy espresso. The machine has default settings, but you can easily make your personal and customized espresso just by following these simple suggestions:
