Wireless audio connectivity is also provided, with a Bluetooth channel present to facilitate streaming from mobile devices, and the Gigcaster 8 features a built-in stereo microphone in addition to its I/O connections. I currently control it with a Boss FS-5 2 button pedal but I've decided to get the GA-FC 6 button pedal to have control over more functions with my feet. The screen points straight up and should be angled towards the user. The screen is not very touch sensitive. Dragging a control on the screen often has no effect. Many times, pressing a button on the screen doesn't respond, requiring that you try again and again.
It has guitar effects built-in so there's no need to bring any of those with me any longer. It took time to dial it in but I now love the patches I've created. I play mostly clean, sometimes with a light overdrive, but I like a clean sound. I worked for weeks trying to get a good acoustic sound but wasn't able to, then suddenly, a couple days ago, I found the secret to it and it sounds great. Equipped with two XLR inputs, and stereo line-level inputs and outputs, the device offers much of the functionality of its larger sibling with a reduced footprint and channel count. Bottom line, I'm really surprised Boss missed the opportunity with this and question if it should carry the Boss name. Do I love it? Yes, I kept it. I still recommend it for solo singing guitarists.
