About this deal

Still, the pattern manifests itself on quite a number of songs so I’m inclined to think the 58X is just a little overexcited at times, like your 8-year-old who just drank an entire 2-liter of Surge and won’t stop talking. Bass & Treble Sennheiser fans. If you’re already a fan of Sennheiser headphones, you’ll probably like this headset. you’ll notice the mid-range tends to jump out at you more so than a 560S, and vocals, in particular, can sound a bit gruff and almost overly forward. Going to return them to get a hd58x since I like the design more and will probably prefer the larger cups.

Just keep in mind that the headband has been known to snap under pressure like Henry Hill in Goodfellas. Some don’t like it for FPS, but I found it so realistic that I had to stop playing Call of Duty Warzone altogether. If you plan on purchasing these headphones or any other high-end headphones for that matter, I suggest you get a good DAC/AMP to go with it. It will go a long way to make your listening experience much more enjoyable. The neat thing about the 58X is that its 150 Ohm Impedance is actually half that of the others in the line.

I happen to have a really neat soft bristle brush that came with my Nikon D3200 that I use to get the dust and particles out every so often. The problem for some is that the direction of said sounds can be a bit hard to pinpoint, but I personally don’t have much of an issue with it. Film Anyone ready to make the jump from listening while commuting to listening for enjoyment. Sure, the Bose QuietComfort 45 and Sony WH-1000XM5 are great for outside the home, but there’s something about the Jubilee that makes it a joy to actually listen to your music, rather than have it serve as a distraction.

A company like Sennheiser needs no introduction. So, instead of telling you guys about the company, I will tell you why these headphones were created and why am I so excited to get these. In the year of 1991, a guy named Axel Grell had joined Sennheiser and he had created the headphones that had basically the first generation of the legendary 6xx series of Sennheiser, i.e., the HD 580 Precision. This review is not intended to be a shootout between the HD6XX and the HD58X. Both have their right to exist. point. Nevertheless the comparison is obvious. The HD58X radiates more energy and also has the slightly better extension in the low frequency range. Due to the clearer focus on the upper mids due to the somewhat restrained lower treble range compared to the HD6XX, the absolute balance gets a bit lost, but still, the HD58X strives for a neutral sound with a slight warmth. Very easy, this is just an amazing recommendation for anyone wanting to get their first pair of audiophile headphones for under 200 dollars. There a few minors flaws but considering the price, it's okay Again - the main problem they run into is the greatness of the HD600 for a little more money. Take those out of the equation and these are a no brainer. They also get close to those, but not quite as resolving.

The HD600 is a little more resolving and has a better less closed in soundstage. Mids are better on it as well. They beat these (slightly) in overall resolution, detail, clarity, and soundstage. It's not a big difference, but they get more detail and resolution. Overall sound sig is very similar. Stuart Charles here, HomeStudioBasics.com helping YOU make sound decisions leading to a beautiful audio experience that will make you fall in love with music (NOT gear), all over again, so… Sennheiser HD58X Treble Response: Wrapping up the frequency response, we have treble. The treble response on these is the weakest performer out of all three aspects in this headphone in my opinion. It’s not bad at all, but considering how much of an all rounder the 58X is, I’d say the treble is the weakest, but this is a matter of opinion as it is still very good. In terms of the brightness of it, it’s on the darker side. It’s not the most energetic treble response due to the fairly large dip in the early to mid treble. This ends up making these very easy to listen to music on, which although is a good thing, also results in these sounding less fun and engaging to listen too. Another important aspect is that the treble response is never sibilant, and when I say never, I genuinely mean never. Unless something is recorded badly, it is never sibilant. Due to how the treble is darker then the midrange, this ends up making these sound very balanced. Sometimes, they can sound slightly boring at times due to the significant neutrality of the sound signature, but this is a matter of personal preference. The treble is also quite detailed even though it’s not particularly bright. It also sounds quite natural most of the time, but there’s this sparkle to it which some people describe as grain in these, but to me personally it doesn’t sound grainy at all, it sounds sparkly and extra detailed at this particular range where this sparkle occurs. It’s mostly noticeable with high hats, and that’s about it. Overall the response is great, I just wish it was slightly brighter and more energetic. Neutrality: HD598 > DT990 > HD58X > HD650 (I felt the HD 650 tends to gravitate towards darkness, whereas the HD598 were the most neutral and flat sounding in the bunch with the HD 58X somewhere in the middle with its liveliness in its sound signature)

Well, that’s about it for today my friend! I hope you’ve enjoyed this Sennheiser HD58X Review/Shootout and came away with some valuable insight. All that being said, I still quite like the HD58x’s design – all because of the grill alone. While it’s nowhere near the original HD580’s level of refinement (look at those waves!), the grey-painted grill surely gives the HD58x a “new”, weirdly retro and distinct look, one that stands out from its more recent siblings. Yes, I like the way the HD600, 650/6xx and 660s show off their drivers housing, but this is way more refreshing. Again, I talk more about this in the video but I really love the looks and the build quality is the usual "sennheiser build quality," (whatever that may mean to you).
