About this deal

I just don’t get it Nintendo. I’m convinced their sales and marketing teams are screwing them over. Nintendo Life’s resident horror fanatic, when he’s not knee-deep in Resident Evil and Silent Hill lore, Ollie likes to dive into a good horror book while nursing a lovely cup of tea. He also enjoys long walks and listens to everything from Motorhead to BB King.

I wouldn't be surprised. They had a similar approach with Wii and Wii U. Then again, this is post-Iwata Nintendo. They've done a lot of things that are atypical to their habits in the past. I wouldn't completely blame them either. Switch won't keep the momentum up for more than two years. People just lose interest and want something new. It's game night! Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom friends are playing together in another board game-style title. Collect the most Stars to win. A Mario for every mood Y’all thought there would be a new movie tie in game? Sorry lads, we will get ‘em next time. But one of three Mario games is a good deal. For those who don’t have it, choose Mario kart! That game is great fun! Discover the charming world of Animal Crossing, build your very own little island, make friends with cute neighbours, go fishing, take up gardening and even dig up fossils and bones to build up your town's museum, there are so many things to do, people to see and tasks to complete as you build your very own little piece of paradise. Lizuka Really? Why? I haven't actually played U Deluxe but I've played a bunch of the other NSMB games, and they're kind of mediocre, while Odyssey is probably one of the best games I've ever played. We need to stop slamming Switch as a mobile device here-this is clearly disrespectful of a hybrid gaming console. It has mobile tech because of the nature of the design but its not a mobile phone and you can't make calls with it. And it's using a old color scheme and not a OLED Mario just leaves one dumbfounded here. Also, I already own the physical three games. Only difference is the red Joy-Cons. I understand their strategy of utilising existing hardware and existing software - including the porting of older games - and that all makes absolute sense given the Wii U's sales performance and efficiently driving middle/end of lifecycle for Switch. Plenty of people haven't played Mario Bros U and Odyssey - all makes sense to use them here. I agree. If they had made the console red and then maybe blue joycons or something they would have had huge response, especially even from current Switch owners. Oh well. The new console ties in with Nintendo’s ongoing Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary celebrations, which have seen the company release Super Mario 3D All-Stars. That collection includes Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, but it's only available until March 31st. Geez... I get that something's better than nothing but seeing "Choose One" in big bold letters for games that could've all been bundled for free for this extremely short period of time just feels stingy.LavaTwilight : I guess Nintendo thinks that it's a no-brainer. Plus, there's the fact that MK8D supports wireless local multiplayer for up to 8 consoles, so that could be another way to convince families to grab another Switch (or two, or three, or seven) for the kids. Nintendo Switch continues to be one of the most popular devices, and with games such as Breath of the Wild 2 ( Tears of the Kingdom) and Metroid Prime 4 still to come, there's plenty of life left in Nintendo's hybrid console. Nintendo recently changed the release date for the Super Mario Bros. Movie yet again, but this time moving it forward two days for the US and over 60 other global markets, with the highly anticipated film now launching on April 5th, 2023. Though I do think Mario Kart is an odd choice when it could've easily been Mario 3D World. Don't they sell enough MK as it is?
