Ruby and the rest of the group are greeted by Ms. Wright, who gives the girls the grand project of designing cheer uniforms and designing a cheer to go with them. Being the graphic designer she is, Ruby takes on the job of making the emblems for the outfits. However, she gets into a slight argument with Jade, who thinks their two visions for the designs don't match. Amaya however, mends this by thinking of making totally customized uniforms. The girls end up with a variety of looks, and after doing a performance for Ms. Wright, they pass the project.

Other users have it right: Rainbow High is extremely shallow. Kids also don't need to be worried about how many "likes" or "followers" they should have on any social media platform, but it focuses way too much on that. This show has zero substance. Ruby appears with her friends and is super excited to learn Amaya has a crush on River. Ruby in particular urges Amaya to ask him out, working together with her friends near the end to get them together. Still sitting with her friends, she discusses how she doesn't want Laurel and Holly to host Rainbow Vision and on stage for the whole competition, something her friends agree with. With the story still going on, Violet reveals to her and Skyler that Sunny didn't steal anything and was instead just exchanging it. This makes Ruby and Skyler apologize, with Sunny accepting it and them all hanging out together shortly after. Ruby watches the play with everyone else, doing her best to not laugh at all of the cringeworthy and over the top writing in the play.

Ruby's runway project is briefly shown when Veronica and Naomi are talking about the projects at Rainbow High.

She is greeted by Bella walks in her dorm while everyone is fighting, finding out Ruby, Sunny, and Poppy got to see Ainsley's fashions. After more arguing, they all make up except for Violet, who is most upset.Ruby is first seen meeting Violet along with her other roommates Jade and Bella. Once they met they took a selfie together, with Violet posting it online shortly after this. After they meet and mingle with each other, they're greeted by Ms. Wright, who gives Ruby and her friends their runway assignment. Ruby, along with the rest of her group, is seen working on the runway group project when they are interrupted by Ms. Wright who lets the girls know that Bella is being expelled. Being understandably upset, Ruby and the rest of girls immediately panic and are heartbroken. They are then abruptly introduced to Amaya, someone Ruby is shown to be unsure of.

Being accompanied by Skyler, they help clear Neon Shadow's equipment from the stage, with both of them feeling better that none of the twins are sabotaging performances anymore.She makes a minor appearance in the atrium along with other first years, finding out about her new project. As Violet tells her story, Ruby is mentioned to have spotted Sunny supposedly stealing the cardigan, with her and Skyler running up from behind and stopping her from leaving, accusing her of stealing it. While most of the girls have grown a bit closer to Amaya, Ruby is still rather distant from her, seeing her as nothing but a replacement for her friend. In particular, she tells Bella that she deeply misses her, having Jade text her about these feelings. Amaya, still trying to win everyone's approval, shows Ruby and the rest of the girls the school's special Color Change Chamber. Ruby in particular is very impressed by this, and she starts to see Amaya as her own person and as a part of the group.

Ruby appears with Jade and the rest of their friends in multiple shots, being shown to be angry with Violet at the time. Days later, Ruby and her friends decide on their first runway look, with Poppy helping break the tie. After this, they all celebrate and prepare for the upcoming party she's DJing, with Ruby reminding everyone to plan their outfits. Ruby makes a small appearance, saying she couldn't believe that Jade and Amaya joined Laurel and Holly's' play. After Amaya accidentally writes her name on the other paper, Ruby gives advice on what she should do and helps her out.After Skyler gives her story behind her getting over Colin at the party, she chimes in and continues supporting her friend, even telling she she had switched seats in class to be away from him.
