About this deal

These self-esteem worksheets can be used in class to help your students realise their positive qualities through self-reflection. The word “assertive” may make people with low self-esteem hesitant. Being assertive might sound overly aggressive, pushy, or just too out of character. When children feel good about themselves, it paves the way for the future. Children who have low self-esteem may even perform below their full potential in school and make poor decisions (Kids Play and Create, n.d.). Roberts, E. (2016, January 15). Self-esteem - Mind

For example, if you’re late for work you might think, “I’m unreliable.” It would be more helpful to think: “I’m reliable in most parts of my life, and I’m usually reliable when it comes to getting to work. I was late today because of one specific issue.” This worksheet helps children learn to focus on and explore their positive traits and accomplishments, as opposed to always focusing on the negative things.

In the second column, the client is encouraged to dig a bit deeper into the personal motivations for this particular goal. Why is it important to them? How might it enhance the meaning in their life? Remember it’s good to be clear when you’re making a request, and no one will be annoyed with you for being direct. Don't hint and expect people to guess what you mean or know what you're thinking. Eat as healthily as you can – if you’re not confident about cooking, try practising some simple recipes for foods you enjoy until you get them right.

Schiraldi (2016), author of The Self-Esteem Workbook, there are some simple steps you can take to help build your self-esteem: If you answered “most of the time” to many of the questions, you may need to take some additional steps to boost your self-esteem. This doesn’t necessarily mean you are depressed; it just means you may be a little too hard on yourself. This reframing worksheet opens with an explanation of negative self-talk and how you can identify and confront it. We’ll provide several methods and activities for building self-esteem, starting with self-esteem worksheets for young children and ending with self-esteem worksheets for adults.
