About this deal

Sentinel's latest generation X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is now able to deliver superior cleaning of heating systems in as little as 1 hour! If an open system you will have a small (4 gallon) tank in the loft. Turn off the boiler and water feed to the tank. Remove all the water (which is likely to be filthy) from the small (Feed and Expansion F&E)) tank. Drain some more water from the system (3 or 4 litres) and add the chemical to the tank. Turn on the water feed and let the tank fill until it stops normally. Turn on the boiler, and run the system. After a suitable period (max. 4 weeks for X400, say a day for X800) drain the system, refill and repeat two or three times. But neither remove sludge. Both are chellating agents which try to get loose particles into suspension. Sentinel X800 Jetflo is a powerful, highly active cleaning agent for use in central heating systems. It is specifically designed for use in conjunction with power flushing equipment and will remove objectionable iron oxide and calcium based deposits from heat exchangers, radiators and pipe work. Its unique composition allows Sentinel X800 Jetflo to act as a penetrating dispersant under neutral pH conditions, eliminating the need to clean with conventional acids and the problems associated with them. The formulation also contains agents to help protect metal from corrosion. To complete the cleaning process, you should always drain or flush the system fully to remove all of the debris that Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner has collected or dislodged. If you do not drain the system of this debris, the system will remain dirty."

I add it bit by bit and taste it to see the acid left. I stop when it has not used up all the acid. You need to circulate it at the minimum temperature or with the pump on and the boiler off.

I am interested to see it because everything else I have read has suggested the system should be flushed out within a few days.

I went upstairs and started bleeding the radiators there too which caused water to come out of the bleed valves on the radiators downstairs that I had left open The Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner can be used in hot or cold systems (older than six months) and is the perfect partner for powerflushing machines thanks to its no-foam formula. A few examples of the kind of debris that can be found in new systems include copper swarf, flux residues, casting sands and rust. Other contaminants can include greases and stamping oils used in the manufacturing process, sometimes applied excessively. When introduced into a central heating system, these materials can cause problems such as corrosion. In this scenario, the system may benefit from a manual flush using with X300. The system I’m dealing with is older than 6 months I ham building up to having my boiler changed by taking some old rads off and flushing out all the sludge etc. I have just dosed the system with Sentinel X800 Jetflo and I was wondering how long I can leave this in the system. I realise that it will have done whatever it is going to do in a couple of days but is it OK to leave it in the system for a couple of months which is the earliest that the boiler will be changed? Or should I drain the system in a couplel of days, flush it and add inhibitor? it's not cheap for a can of "liquid", but I suppose if it's got lots of magic in it then it's quite cheap! Sometimes a more general clean is required, aimed at removing iron oxide and limescale deposits from pipework, heat exchangers and radiators. X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is ideal for these purposes, designed for use in conjunction with powerflushing equipment, but also proving a highly effective cleaner when manually flushed, too. It is effective both hot and cold. When might I need Deposit Remover?
