About this deal

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern | Goodreads

I listened to this book on Audible, the narrator, Mark Meadows, had an Irish accent which fitted perfect with the Irish characters. In fact, I think Mark Meadows could become a favourite of mine, he’s so good to listen to. In 2007 I was promoting the PS I LOVE YOU film and republished book, working on SAMANTHA WHO?, preparing to publish THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES and starting work on my first one woman show and as exciting as it all was, I felt I was being pulled in so many different directions. Life's rhythm was beating faster and faster. One cold winter morning he stops outside his office building to give his coffee to a beggar, Gabe. Later he offers Gabe a job in the company’s post room. The Gift focuses on the idea of time and how we spend it. Do you have any tips for managing our time around such a busy time of year? This book was so much better than I had anticipated. I have read one other book by Cecelia Ahern just a couple of months ago and I was pretty disappointed. So when starting this book I was expecting the same kind of outcome. But I was pleasantly surprised. As Christmas draws closer, Lou starts to understand the value of time. He sees what is truly important in life yet at the same time he learns the harshest lesson of all.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern - Female First Book Review: The Gift by Cecelia Ahern - Female First

Gabe keeps challenging Lou to spend more time with his family, and eventually gives him some tablets that split Lou in two for a day so he can be in two places at the same time. This story is a bit different from the usual holiday stories I encounter. There is a magical, supernatural element to it, but that whimsical tone also masks a definite somber tone that took me completely by surprise. I went to The Bear and Bull Bar in the Waldorf Astoria in NY to do a TV Business & Finance show and I distinctly remember a woman asking me - off air - if I could attend a specific event. I recall saying "If I can clone myself I'll be there" and then BAM there was my idea. Ξενύχτια, συσκέψεις, ραντεβού (τόσο επαγγελματικά όσο και προσωπικά), γρήγορα αυτοκίνητα, ονειρεμένο σπίτι, μια γυναίκα, 2 παιδιά και μια οικογένεια οι οποίοι, βλέπουμε, ότι είναι στην τελευταία θέση στην ζωή του.I really hated Lou in the beginning I thought he was a selfish self-centered jerk but mid story I actually came to like him a bit and at the end of the book was absolutely balling behind his story line. A side note to the wife in this story: If your husband has an affair with the nanny, leave him before he has time for an angel to visit him cause he really isn't a nice person. I was gonna post this on the night of 25th, right when I finished the book (literally eating it up in one setting), but the internet is flimsy here right now due to political reasons. Interestingly, while at the Bull and Bear bar, the live show ran late and there wasn’t enough time for my interview. We had to record it at the end, to add it into another live show on a different day. I’m not sure if that ever happened. So we ran out of time in the exact moment I came up with a novel about time. Timely, wasn’t it? There was a kind of panic in the air that month, I felt it from a lot of people.
