I didn’t rate this book as high as the first books in the Things We Never Got Over series because certain aspects of the story just didn’t jive with me. Sloane and Lucian are really well-rounded characters. Sloane’s relatability is endearing, and I couldn’t help but root for her aspirations of building a family. Lucian, despite his occasional exasperating moments, is a character I couldn’t help but look up to. Their rollercoaster of a relationship had me on the edge of my seat throughout!
