As I progressed reading this book, I realized that I quote from it in my conversations in business and personal life many times daily. This caught me in surprise; I read a lot, and had never quoted anyone so many times… No weapon formed against you prospers, | And every tongue rising against you, | You condemn in judgment. This [is] the inheritance of the servants of YHWH, | And their righteousness from Me,” a declaration of YHWH! Let not the book of this law depart from thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate on it day and night, that thou mayst observe and do all things that are written in it: then shalt thou direct thy way, and understand it. And the chief, and most important, of those provisos is that you have to make the money yourself. And I think we all know what happens to families who win the lottery. I know you may have contradictory information, but I do not know of a single instance of people who won the lottery, and two years later were happier and better off for it.” Charging Interest

Intelligence doesn’t necessarily lead to more money. People who are smarter tend to become academics and scientists, not business leaders. It is not uncommon for corporations to be negatively portrayed in the media. This can cause people to overlook how they create jobs and do charitable work.No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that resisteth thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and their justice with me, saith the Lord. Educational institutions, according to Lapin, teach kids that making money is an inherently bad thing, regardless of the path one chooses to wealth. Who would dare to voice an aspiration to be a business professional, in an environment in which such a thing is at worst cruel and illegal and at best morally ambiguous?

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and

What an amazing book! I wish I had read this years ago, and that all my friends could read it now! The book basically sets out to describe the principles and habits which make Jewish people so good at business, and it does a mighty fine job. As a Christian, many of the lessons sounded familiar, and yet I found the approach totally refreshing. Whereas I had been conditioned to think of business and the whole area of making money as somewhat distasteful, Rabbi Daniel Lapin explains that it is an entirely spiritual enterprise, stemming from God's earliest commandment to "Go forth and multiply; subdue the earth and make it prosper". Rabbi Daniel Lapin is an author, speaker, and TV host. He immigrated to the United States from South Africa after studying mathematics, physics, and economics in Israel and the United Kingdom. Every weapon fashioned against you shall fail; every tongue that brings you to trial you shall prove false. This is the lot of the servants of the LORD, their vindication from me—oracle of the LORD.

We’re excited to bring you a unique guest who may surprise you. Rabbi Daniel Lapin is more than just a man of faith, he’s also an accomplished speaker, scholar, and author of a book on our favorite topic—Prosperity. The 10 Commandments (of Making Money) Partly as a result of education and media, a belief has spread throughout our culture that business is a zero-sum game. If a business is profitable, it must be so at the expense of another or a group of anothers; conceiving of a business reality where both companies and the public benefit has become increasingly difficult. For the most part, the handful of people who champion business do not promote it as an innately good thing, free of vice per se, but instead insist that business is motivated by greed. But contrary to eons of thought, greed is actually a good thing. The only thing is, greed isn’t a good thing. Greed destroys people, and deep down, all people who listen even occasionally to the call of conscience know that. “Foolishly claiming that business is about greed merely confirms the growing cultural conviction that business is, at root, fundamentally immoral—that even if commerce may be necessary for a healthy economy, it is a necessary evil” (42). No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh. It is that the vast catalogue of ancient Jewish wisdom embedded in the Hebrew scriptures, that have been part and parcel of Jewish culture. Whether it’s a man, dedicated sages who study the word diligently, or whether it’s among secularized Jews whose conversation around the dinnertable revolves around the way they raise their families and inculcate their children. All reflect these intrinsic values and so, in a nutshell, that’s what it was. And I worked as hard as I worked in my life to condense all of that into ten fundamental principles.” Business is Not Piracy
