About this deal

Cargo Cult: He accidentally starts the first religion on Delta Eridani when he helps the Deltans fight the gorriloids. He's upfront about his abilities, so most of the more intelligent members of the tribe just treat him as a powerful ally, but some of the others start building shrines. This is an irreverent comedy adventure takes, akin to "Ready Player One" and "Magic 2.0", and if you enjoyed those then you'll probably love this. It's also been compared to "The Martian", which is entirely wrong. In terms of sophistication and internal consistency, "The Martian" is a fine wine, and this is grape soda. Either can really hit the spot, but you should know what you're in for. A more conclusive example is found by Mario. A habitable planet sterilized completely with gamma rays, and then strip-mined. Jerkass: When he finally has a conversation with Riker he doesn't even try to justify his actions and seems to have no regrets over killing hundreds of people including Homer.

Great story and great concept. An real Sci fi fan will love this. it's obvious the author knows his stuff about software, science and other Sci fi titles as the knowledge and facts are littered through but never used incorrectly. The Bobiverse is the story of Robert "Bob" Johansson, who, after becoming financially independent by selling his software company, decides to spend some of his money by contracting to have his head cryonically frozen by CryoEterna Inc. upon his death. The idea is that his head would be preserved until later, when technology permitted a body to be grown and his thawed head attached to it - thus resuming life. The next day he is unexpectedly killed in an automobile accident. He w akes up 117 years later to find that he has been harvested from his frozen head and installed as simulation in a computer matrix to be an artificial intelligence . The series follows Bob as he is installed into the first Von Neumann Probe, to explore and replicate across the galaxy . We Are Legion (We Are Bob) Book 1 (released on September 20, 2016) [ ] Superweapon Surprise: His use of nuclear weapons and cloaking technology developed by the Empire before the war takes the Bobs by surprise. in motion. Obviously, there’s a third book and with the protagonist’s nature, this might just be a longer series.

Engaging, fast, and entertaining, WE ARE LEGION, is a great popcorn read that reminded me how much fun science fiction can sometimes be. Bob and his copies have been spreading out from Earth for forty years now, looking for habitable planets. But that’s the only part of the plan that’s still in one piece. A system-wide war has killed off 99.9% of the human race; nuclear winter is slowly making the Earth uninhabitable; a radical group wants to finish the job on the remnants of humanity; the Brazilian space probes are still out there, still trying to blow up the competition; And the Bobs have discovered a spacefaring species that considers all other life as food. Reasonable Authority Figure: After his attempts to control Riker fail, he puts forth a reasonable plan to help other survivors in exchange for special consideration. It's implied that Homer suggested it, but either way it's a real turn around. Space stations are initially dismissed when trying to find a way to save the survivors on Earth, but Homer eventually realizes that space farms are much more practical, due to a wider margin of error and fewer needs. They fill a few with kudzu and extend the life of the planet by decades. Brain Uploading: A living brain is destructively scanned, where it can be uploaded to a replicant core and activated. While the original is dead, the copy can be copied infinitely, and most nations on Earth use these copies to run important but boring tasks that are beyond lower-level AIs.

Throughout the story, Bob (and his copies) invent new technologies, design space vessels, discover new habitable worlds, encounter other primitive intelligent life, return to attempt to save humanity, and encounter mysterious systems and circumstances. If you love sci fi, you already know about this awesome book. It's a pretty original concept -- governments clone human-personality-infused-AIs and send them into space as self-replicating probes to find new planets for humans to inhabit. Some of the probes go insane, some turn into weapons of mass destruction, and some . . .
