About this deal

Nord’s version of the electric drum pad is a little disappointing in our view. Like other Nord products, it has a clunky knob interface ( just our opinion), with an old-school digital display that gives minimal information to the user. I much prefer the design of the Alesis and Roland SPD-SX displays. The Nord Drum 3P is Not a Drum Sampler – It’s a Synthesizer

When it comes to sound options and customization, the SamplePad Pro excels. With over 200 carefully-crafted drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds built-in, as well as ten onboard preset drum kits, you’ll have instant access during performances. The SD card support enables you to store additional sounds and custom kits for even more versatility. Plus, with individual access to key parameters like pitch, panning, and reverb, you can fine-tune your sound with ease using the intuitive user interface. Let’s face it—electronic drum pads are becoming more and more common in drummers’ setups, specifically the Roland SPD-SX Pro. A drum sampling pad can offer a drummer a range of sounds that cannot be normally achieved with just a standard acoustic drum set. I'm not a drummer (let's get that out of the way) and just wanted to have a canvas for making some percussive arrangements and laying out basic beats, but the Alesis Strike Multipad goes well above and beyond that. Does the Strike MultiPad's killer combination of features, practicality and price make it the best percussion pad on the market? The Alesis Strike MultiPad has been a breath of fresh air in the world of samplepads, and firmware update v1.3 continues to bring the very best to the Strike MultiPad community. We’ve created this getting started guide so you can enjoy making music right away with the Alesis Strike Multipad. You’ll learn how to register and set up the device, as well as how to navigate the menus. Follow the sections below to get started. Another essential function is looping. They both have the capacity to design loops from the ground up and start and stop them as you play. You could arrange these as dense as you like or keep it simple. Your loops are only determined by the memory you have available, so in theory, you could hit start on a song and let it play all the way through. When the blue Firmware screen appears, let go of the buttons, and press the main encoder to start the firmware update. It’s definitely a step up in price when compared to the SamplePad Pro, but with the added features and build quality, I believe it’s justified. [wp-review id=”4504″]

The Feel menu includes the usual range of parameters to set how each pad (and trigger input) responds. Sensitivity, Curve, Threshold and Fixed Level settings allow each pad to be tailored to your playing style. In the Output menu, Main+Phones, Aux+Phones, Phones Only, or one of the three Kit FX engines (more later) can be selected as output destinations. You can also set the MIDI note sent from each pad. Testament to Alesis's continued support and improvement of their products, the Strike Multipad firmware is to be updated to v1.1. With its four velocity-sensitive pads and built-in library of over 25 high-quality drum sounds, the SamplePad 4 allows you to create dynamic beats with ease. It also features an SD card slot, allowing you to expand your sound library by loading your own samples.
