Would you say using a Freesat Foxsat-HDR (which is a licenced Freesat+ box) that is entirely unmodified by switching to non freesat mode and scanning the appropriate transponders can record the same content. from the same broadcast and not encrypt is illegal. Funny how the box can do this from launch in 2008, yet it still is Freesat+ certified and if I remember correctly was the first box available that is an Freesat+ box. The Custom Firmware uses the inbuilt capability of the Linux based boxes (Humax themselves under the Linux agreement are obliged to divulge details of the open source software. This allows (mostly free) Linux applications to be uploaded to the box. The Custom Firmware itself does not alter the Humax Settop App, as a result anyone using the box without using the web interface would not notice any differences.
