About this deal

Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i9-13900KF CPU for general apps, you can expect excellent app performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. The Core i9-13900K peaks at 5.8GHz turbo while the base speed is 3.0GHz. L3 cache tops at 36MB with 32MB of L2, and the base TDP is 125 watts with an eye-watering 253-watt max TDP. Yikes! Those are some seriously impressive multi-core results, beating the Ryzen 9 7950X by about 10% on average across multiple synthetic tests. Single-core performance is also strong, but not quite so much of a jump; when compared to the i9-12900K, it was also about 10% better, while multi-core figures demonstrated a generational increase of more than a third. Cascade Lake-X (Enthusiast) microarchitecture, which has no official "generation designation" by Intel, but fits between 9th and 10th generations by timeline.

Use conditions are the environmental and operating conditions derived from the context of system use. Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html for details. Efficiency is an area Intel needs to work on, especially in laptops, but when it comes to desktops, it’s a flimsier straw to grasp. AMD, however, deserves a lot of credit for, at times, matching or slightly beating Intel despite "only" having 16 cores instead of 24 while using significantly less power. Synthetic single and multi-core benchmarks test the performance of specific instruction sets and processor operations like floating-point calculations using benchmark tools like GeekBench, Cinebench, and CPU-Z. Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i9-13900K CPU for general apps, you can expect excellent app performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. When it comes to choosing a processor for your next PC build, you’re faced with an array of options. Intel has been a household name in the world of CPUs, and they’ve recently launched two contenders that have piqued my interest: the Intel Core i9-13900K and the Intel Core i9-13900KF. As a tech enthusiast, I couldn’t resist diving into the specs and testing these two chips to see which one comes out on top. Read on to explore my 13900k vs 13900kf comparison… Meet the Contenders – Intel Core i9-13900K vs. 13900KF The Intel Core i9-13900K's 8 Performance cores have a 3.00 GHz base frequency and support a 5.40 GHz max turbo boost frequency. On 3Dmark’s CPU Profile, which includes six tests that feature custom simulations, the i9-13900K scored 16,557 (compared to 10,370 of the new Core i5-13600K). All six tests use the same workload with variations in threading. This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. The advantage for AMD comes down to wattage used, which peaks at 170 watts (instead of 253 for Intel), and its ability to handle specific tasks like video encoding or compression faster than the Core i9-13900K. Just for fun, we benched the i9-13900K with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 in PCMark 10, which uses both the CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD speeds in its overall score. With a result of 9,926, our test rig was better than 99% of all results. Professional tools are often well optimized to use many cores. CPU cores allow tools to parallelize processing tasks. Increasing the number of cores can divide the time required to process a task if the tool has good multi-threading support. After putting both these processors through their paces, I have to say I’m leaning towards the 13900KF for my personal setup. The slight edge in single-threaded performance and the flexibility it offers for future GPU upgrades are compelling factors for me. However, I can’t deny the convenience of the integrated graphics in the 13900K, which could be a lifesaver in a pinch. What if you're looking to buy a new desktop PC, either pre-built or custom? Going for a 13th Gen system with the i9 seems prudent if you're serious about having the best — it's a big difference over the Core i9-12900K. Based on our evaluation, the 13900KF's 8 Performance cores and 16 Efficiency cores allow for excellent performance overall.
