LGS also features an EQ with a handful of presets for different game types; Flat (default), FPS, MOBA, Drop the Bass and Cinematic Gaming. But as well as being able to select one of these presets, you are free to create your own profiles using the Advanced Equalizer. As for build quality, the speakers and the subwoofer have plastic shells, but they look classy and feel solid. The downward-firing subwoofer stands on four feet, so it’s not pumping straight into the floor. . Beyond this fixable problem, how did the G560 sound during gaming? Quite excellent, I’d say. In terms of power, the dedicated subwoofer propels this setup way past my trusty Nommo Chroma speakers, as every explosion sounds like it’s coming through the floorboards. DTS:X Ultra infused Halo Infinite play sessions with impressive spatial sound, and while general music sounds perfectly fine on these speakers, it’s not the best I’ve heard. On the rear of each satellite, you’ll find a larger lighting panel which projects light behind your speakers at a slightly upward angle. The brightness and angle of the RGB panel should provide most PC setups with an effect similar to that ofThe down-firing subwoofer is much larger at 404 x 255 x 207mm, but it should still fit nicely into the majority of setups. Besides, the incredible bass produced by the sub is more than enough to make up for the large dimensions! Having said all that, the G560 does get plenty right. If you’re in the market for some powerful and compact speakers that will add flare to your gaming setup, then the Logitech G560 Lightsync Speakers are an excellent option. Verdict The highs aren’t bad either. The treble perhaps feels ever so slightly rolled off, but there’s plenty of energy at the top end; cymbals sizzle without sibilance, and snare drums have a sharp impact.
The G560s are controlled via the Logitech Gaming Software, which, while simple enough to navigate, perhaps isn’t as feature-rich as Corsair’s CUE. There are plenty of controls to the sound signature (including the much-needed ‘Drop The Bass’ preset), and you can adjust the RGB lighting to match the colour scheme of your preference. That said, the audio output from these speakers is simply amazing. The bass is deep and rumbling and the high notes are captured with nuance and a wide range of tones. Your games and even movies are going to sound excellent through these speakers, that much we can guarantee. The G560 comes with a very powerful down-firing subwoofer which proved to be amazing for things like explosions but became quite overpowering at low volumes while listening to music. Adjustments in the software help a little but you're on your own if you've connected to bluetooth. Rather, the lights simply appear to flash all sorts of colors in a sort of rhythm with the motions and sounds on screen during intense sequences. During moments of more steady motion and pure color, however, the speakers work beautifully to match the tones and hues. A truly immersive gaming experience
Aside from loudness, the other thing that’s really noticeable about the G560 sound is how very bassy it is. Again, I love a good bit of bass, but at default settings I found it overpowering. I suspect that Logitech knows it, too: within LGS there’s a pre-made “Lower The Bass” profile, as well as a custom equaliser. I found I had to pull the bass down by a huge -10db to enjoy it. These allow the speakers to be controlled from the game you’re playing, opening up a whole new range of possibilities. Some are bright, obnoxious and impractical, but there are some real gems; my personal favourite is Smite’s cooldown timer effects, which visually display when an ability is ready to be used. Logitech’s G560 is amongst a new breed of ‘gaming speakers’ appearing on the market in 2018 – but what makes a 2.1 speaker setup specific to gamers? RGB lighting, of course. Like The Logitech G560 is a 2.1 PC speaker set with RGB lighting. It isn’t one for purists, and if you primarily listen to music then there are better alternatives out there. However, it’s great for games as gunfire and explosions sound all the more moving thanks to the rumbling lows. If you live in a thin-walled home, though, I’ll add that these speakers will almost certainly cause issues with the neighbours. While our setup here looks so much more premium than it did before, the lighting isn’t as nuanced as we’d like it to be, especially when using the Screen Sampler mode. Also, the speakers need to support more of the latest games with custom lighting profiles. PUBG and Fortnight should be a given.Panel 2 - The Equaliser. If you'd like more sub bass you can drag up the 25, 40 and 65 frequencies up (do not adjust the subwoofer value in GHub). Feel free to tweak the entire equaliser as you see fit. Even if a game doesn’t specifically support Logitech’s RGB SDK, the Logitech G software (which we go into more detail about below) provides a customisable screen sampling mode. Simply highlight the areas of your game that the speakers should recreate and you’ll get an effect similar to officially-supported games. It’s a great addition as it doesn’t limit the impressive LED setup to a relatively small list of officially-supported games; from AAA games to unknown indie games, you’ll have your reactive ambient lighting.
