My son who is learning how to read was just confused and my older son who can read was easily bored by it. There is so much going on here that I love! Spatial recognition, analyzing a picture and recreating it, patterns, and more. We started on the easy level, but as you keep progressing the puzzles become more difficult and require more thinking. Coding Awbie provides a wonderful introduction to coding skills and concepts for even the youngest child. If you are not familiar with Osmo, you are missing out! This hands-on, tangible play system takes a screen and turns it into an interactive experience.My kids have slowly collected add-ons over the years (they make GREAT gifts!). One of my sons really enjoyed the Detective Agency game (like a super fun, interactive Where’s Waldo). One of the things my son loved is that the coding pieces are separate from the online game, like a game piece. You take each of the pieces and build your code on a flat surface in front of your device. In his words,”It’s fun and it’s cool how it has an interactive thing. You can move the coding pieces and it affects the screen.” Coding is therefore an essential 21-st century skill for kids of all ages, and can even pave the way for academic success.
