OK, I am positive that if my uncle did not gift me this novel through the post, I would have surely not read it. Any book about James Bond as a child would not have placed an interesting thought in my mind. They destroy the other vehicles and break through the gates to find that they are being followed by Hellebore and his men. They abandon the lorry on a farm and Red hides while James runs away toward town before turning toward the one place Hellebore wouldn't look: the castle. However, the Laird catches up and slashes James' face with a horse crop. James spits in his eye before Wilder rides in on Martini to rescue him. They ride into the forest surrounding the estate, where George finds them and despite James' misgivings, proceeds to help them destroy his father's laboratory. It’s James Bond’s first day at Elon and already he’s made an enemy. An enemy who will follow him from the school playing fields to the remote shores of Loch Silverfin, where a terrifying new breed of warfare threatens to unleash destruction on the world. A special signed limited edition hardcover was released exclusively at Waterstone's Bookstores in the UK on October 6, 2005. Silverfin is the first of 9 books in the Young Bond graphic novel series. Bond's parents are dead due to an accident during while exploring. Bond's Aunt Charmain drives an identical Bentley to one Bond drives in Casino Royale and in subsequent books. Bond also inherits his Uncles 1.5 liter Bamford & Martin Sidevalue Short Chassis Tourer. Bamford & Martin later became Aston Martin. Charlie Higson is a well-known writer of screenplays and novels, including the phenomenally successful Young Bond series. He is also a performer and co-creator of 'The Fast Show' and Radio Four's award-winning 'Down the Line' series - recently made into a popular BBC2 sketch show, 'Bellamy's People'. Charlie is a big fan of horror films and is now hoping to give a great many children sleepless nights with his The Enemy series. In the second section of the book, James travels to Scotland on spring break to visit his Aunt Charmian and Uncle Max, who is dying of cancer. During this visit, the cause of James's parents’ deaths is revealed, and James learns more about his uncle's history as a spy during World War I. James also meets a few friends, including an older boy, Red, and a love interest, Wilder Lawless. James and Red travel to the nearby Hellebore estate, which includes Loch Silverfin. At the estate, the two meet Mike Moran, a Pinkerton detective investigating Lord Hellebore at the request of his wife, who suspects Hellebore of having killed his own brother, Algar, because he was having an affair with Lady Hellebore. The boys find Detective Moran dead in Loch Silverfin, with his body mostly eaten by the carnivorous eels.

Pan’s Labyrinth was amazing. Special effects and fantasy are used for more than just pretty pictures. As a graphic novel I find this an excellent drawn comic, visually stunning on occasion. The story is of course a little less complete but does catch the essence of Higsons novel. The only fault I can find in the comic and story is that James Bond is running with a certain number during the sporting event that is way to obvious and felt a bit too much. But each his/her own. Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - Randolph’s twin brother, Algar has been made physically monstrous by the SilverFin serum. It is Algar, however, rather than Randolph, who has retained his sense of mercy and compassion.
