My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.) But things are not all full of magic and sunlight on the island. There's something darker and more sinister haunting the forest. This book is definitely a grown-up version of Peter Pan. Cold showers were needed after reading certain scenes in this book. Some of the scenes were so intense I had to make sure I was reading them correctly. Not in confusion but making sure the female protagonist wants what she was asking for in the book. She’s one female protagonist who is not scared of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, which makes them confused with her. I like her character in this book.

Hell’s Keep. An apt moniker. More so than its official designation, Citadel Thirty-Six. The grey, high, fortress-like walls were built into the third highest peak of the Silkspire Mountains, two thousand feet up from one of the long-abandoned merchant routes out of the eastern kingdoms. Well away from the home comforts of Stravimon. This was a place to send only the most hardened and dangerous criminals. Those too deadly to imprison in any normal gaol – but too important or useful to have killed. No one had ever escaped. When Nikki isn’t writing or daydreaming about sinfully sexy bad guys, she can either be found on the beach or at home with her husband and daughter.

I thought Peter Pan was a myth and Neverland a fairytale. A story spun by my mother who had lost her mind a long time ago.Winne Darling ends up in Neverland, and she meets not only Peter Pan but the Lost Boys; the twins, Kas and Bash, and then there’s Vane. The twins Kas and Bash are curious about her, and Vane wants to scare and/or break her. Peter Pan has told them all not to touch her. None of them are supposed to touch the Darlings.

The ending of this book made me want more of these books due to the dark twists and turns it did, and I’m so glad the next book releases towards the end of April. Overall, this book receives four stars from me. I need to know what happens next.He could have ended Vallos’s life there and then. Both of them, and the gathered, braying crowd, realized it. But he chose otherwise. He had seen too much blood in his life by that point. He had pushed Vallos away. Everyone was in awe, for no one had bested Vallos in a fight before. This newcomer had done it within seconds. From then on he gained a new name: Hell’s King. That was the beginning of his dominion in Hell’s Keep. And if you’re not careful your curiosity will end with a knife in a dark corner.’ He nodded towards where a group of the Bloodsports were watching them.
