About this deal

Carry the tray by your side rather in front of you – means you can always see your feet whilst walking Robert said: “My pitch was going really well and Sara was wowed by the benefits and features of the Tipsi Tray. I thought I had won her over and she was going to invest, but in the corner of my eye I could see Theo pulling apart my tray. At that point my heart sank a little. The Tipsi Tray is incredibly level and stable, meaning you will never spill your drinks again! It works on the simple physics principle of centripetal force. When the tray is held in the hand, items on the tray sit far below the centre of rotation. The trays are made from metals, often stainless steel and copper, and are mostly circular in shape. Some of the trays are luxurious in style as they are often used as ornaments for the home. It is known that the Turkish tray can double up as a decorative feature as the hook allows it to be hung and used for other items such as displaying candles. SINGLE HANDED USE | New and Improved design based on the original Tipsi Tray by single handed products. Carry drinks with a single hand using the magic of physics! Carrying drinks has never been easier and safer. Keep a spare hand free to hold a bannister on stairs, open doors or use a walking cane.

On top of that, the tray is made from a polyurethane rubberised coating, which provides a firm grip on plates and glassware. Simply put, items on the tray stay flat and level relative to the handle. 3 accessible Tipsi Tray action ideas You would be forgiven, watching this episode, for thinking all British entrepreneurial spirit had been stamped on by scaly claws as the following two contestants – a husband and wife duo bringing dogs to weddings and a father-and-daughter sales team offering inflatable life vests for sports – left the Den empty handed. Southampton entrepreneur Robert Simpson appeared on Dragon’s Den to try and secure investment for the Tipsi Tray in 2021. The prototype was built by his grandfather Andrew Townson in Yorkshire in the early 1980s, to help him carry food and drink around his house. When the non-slip tray is moved around, the contents remain still on the tray as the centripetal force overcomes the force of gravity.REMOVABLE NEOPRENE GRIPPY SURFACE | Simply lift off the grippy rubber surface for a metallic tray beneath depending on your style or use. Machine wash or wipe down both surfaces There’s never a dull moment in the Den, much like there’s never a dull moment running a small business. The moral of this episode seems to be: know your brand, roll with the punches and don’t spin too many plates (or trays). More Dragons’ Den

Tipsi Tray™ | Rectangular | Single Handed Carry Tray

Most popular during the Ottoman empire in Turkey, the traditional Turkish serving tray can be described as an innovative product ahead of its time. In all fairness to Paphitis’ indomitable spirit, this week’s episode was characterised by impressive ideas with bad business decisions.

This ingenious no spill tray is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before – a unique design to help you carry with one hand, no matter how shaky your hands or how difficult you usually find it to carry items safely on a traditional tray. Perched on the edge of his seat for much of the show, an excitable Paphitis gave investment hopefuls the sharp-tongued once over, before turning down every single one. Oh Theo, how we’ve missed your kindly nature and natural munificence. REMOVABLE HANDLE | The only serving tray in the world with a single handle, Tipsi Tray has a fully collapsible design, removable handle and separate tray which allows you to store it away easily and to put the tray in the dishwasher. As easy as placing a plate in the dishwasher Tipsi Tray™ will make your life easier. The Tipsi Tray was designed to make life easier for anyone who would benefit from using a tray one handed. The unique design allows easy use for those with balance issues, tremors and disabilities that make carrying a standard, traditional two-handed tray a lot more difficult, or even dangerous. It also works well for waiting staff in busy bars or cafes. Personally, I would have preferred the use of silicone in place of rubber. Silicone has a high friction ratio, possibly better than rubber. Plus, silicone will withstand high temperatures better than rubber as well withstanding wear-and-tear. You might look at this and keep the cost difference in mind. The Tipsi Tray, which has a long, curved handle which means it can be used one-handed and remain incredibly stable without spilling food or drink, was designed and a prototype built by his grandfather Andrew Townson in Yorkshire in the early 1980s.

I began work on Tipsi Tray, the Single Handed serving tray designed to make life easier and safer in the home and hospitality industry.”

These serving trays are traditional to the Turkish culture and most often associated with serving mainly tea and coffee however, they are also widely used to serve food. What an experience [Dragon’s Den was], despite not receiving investment in the Den I came away from the experience with a hugely positive attitude. Sara Davies sang my praises and I didn’t actually see much value in their potential investment.
