About this deal

Just a question on protecting the wheel arches of my mini. I am in the process of priming my mini with celly, the car is a completely bare shell. Anyway, i plan to do the sills, inside the rear arches, and under the front wings. What is the best thing I can use to protect these areas? I quite like the idea of a smooth stonechip, as this might be easlier to keep clean if the car is to be concours. Rustbuster specialise in providing high-penetration cavity waxes that are excellent for protecting your car against rust. However, you can’t inject that wax into your car’s bonnet or trunk without the right equipment. That’s why we are delighted to offer versatile wax injection equipment to help keep your car in tip-top shape. If you opt for the DIY undersealing option, do not commence the work without having the right set of protective gear such as overalls, masks, and eye protection. If you want to preserve your car and ward off the welder, it’s a good idea to invest in some underseal or other rustproofing. This is especially advisable if you live near the sea, regularly drive on rough roads or have had an advisory on an MoT for corroded components. Getting to them earlier will prevent further expensive problems down the road. Do you need car underseal?

stone chip out of a rattle can is very thin - doesn't provide much protection but does leave a lovely satin finish. And old oil drips off, or out of the chassis via drain holes, sits on the road and causes motorcyclists to crash. Clean the car or van thoroughly to eliminate as much loose dirt, mud, grease or oil on the underside as possible. Cleaning should also entail removing loose rust flakes using a wire brush. Working in sections should help.

I would strongly recommend setting your spray gun up and shooting some U-POL Gravitex stone chip - It's a superior product and leaves a good looking, hard wearing finish that can be painted over if required. but you'll have to work hard to get it smooth If you need assistance with your delivery please call 01454315588. With a cheese shredder, cut the wax into the turpentine, stir until the wax has dissolved, (takes a long time; you can use very low heat (a warm room) to aid but be careful) and thin with the machine oil to a brushable / sprayable consistency. Apply liberally. You can use a hand spray bottle to get into closed-off sections if you have a small access hole.

I'd try heating - the oil viscosity changes a lot with heating. Though be careful with pressure as the tins go pop much above 90psi and you'd not want to be sprayed with hot oil. Thin it a bit more maybe. You can adjust the trigger points for air on and then spray - you may have it set so the spray control isn't open wide enough. Professionals will use specialized tools to facilitate the rust-proofing process and will usually have access to a hydraulic lift to raise the vehicle. This will also usually use a compressor with spray gun to apply the product. Treating a car is something which can be done by a keen DIYer, but it’s a messy job and you’ll need decent access to the underside. It can be done on ramps or axle stands – just make sure it’s safe before getting under the car and make sure you wear old clothes and eye protection.

In fact, look in any scrapyard and you will see a surprising number of relatively modern vehicles which have succumbed to the MoT tester’s screwdriver. Behind the plastic bumpers and trim, many cars on the road today can be slowly dissolving away. But what can you, as the owner, actually do about the problem of rust? One of the few effective courses of action is to look at car underseal or other rust-proofing measures and below you’ll find our top tips on the different preventative rust treatments available. The best treatments are more expensive but combine corrosion-inhibiting elements and rust converting chemicals in the coating. If the underside of your car is starting to corrode slightly, then these types will treat that at the same time as protecting against further corrosion. What worked for me was to use a thinner uplift tube so he suction has not as much waxoil to lift, I did this by pushing a thiner tube up the shultz tube to make it narrower, However, when I tried to use it to spray the inside of my chassis with old engine oil I found it to be a bit of a disappointment,in that not much oil finds its way out of the end of the nozzle on the end of the bendy plastic pipe. It’s also a good idea to treat the inside of box sections such as chassis rails and sills. A different type of chemical is used for this, or other underseal products can be made thinner with white spirit to make them easier to spray or inject into these inaccessible places.
