About this deal

Let’s take a look at the features starting with the resolutions. There are quite a few options, but the main highlights are 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 90, 60 and 30fps and 720p at 120fps. Reducing the resolution to 1080p 30fps and again the footage is good, with the ability to upsample the footage comfortably to 2K without noticing the effect too much.

As well as video the camera can also shoot 20mp still, which is about average for many action cameras. Unfortunately, you still don’t get a touch screen with this AKASO camera. The UI and the navigation are the same as on Brave 4 – a standard shooting menu that you navigate with physical buttons.

What I like

This is a special edition of the V50 Pro action camera. It has some improved features, but more importantly than that,a portion of funds from all sales of these cameras goes directly to the Leave No Trace/Access Fund. For handheld footage, the EIS does its job with some effect of stabilisation to the footage. The EIS, however, does seem pretty primitive, and there is quite a bit of warping that goes on, you’ll also notice the quality of the footage drop slightly. The videos shot at any resolution do not look very great and it is much expected for a camera at this price point.

The audio recorded by this camera sounds a bit distorted and weird, it’s like you are talking from inside a glass room. The action camera also features a self-timer, driving mode, time-lapse video and special effects, loop recording, motion detection, and adjustable white balance.

The Brave 6 is an upgraded version of the Brave 4. It has some of the same features as the cheaper action camera, but it also has a few other premium features. These include voice commands, advanced electronic image stabilization, and 6x digital zoom.Additionally, this action cam comes with three batteries, all of which can last up to 90 minutes if you’re filming in 1080p. That 270 minutes of use, without having to recharge one of the batteries or purchasing any additional equipment! I love this feature of the AKASO Brave 6 Plus, where you can plug in an external mic. Although, the audio is surprisingly not too bad with the small AKASO camera, it’s great to be able to improve that with an external mic. You also have the option to use the Akaso Go smartphone App to do your mode selections and menu access. Connect your phone to the camera via Wi-Fi, open the App, and you’re good to go. Remote Control I added a micro SD card I had lying around, and it detected and recorded video/pics to it without a fuss.
