About this deal

It Looks Great! We've rambled on about the appearance so much, but let's see what really makes it special- the durable metal frame is crafted from stainless steel, making it both stain-resistant and scratch-resistant. The body is resistant to accidental damage from needles and other sharp objects, or even in the rare case of dropping this machine. The colour scheme is pretty universal for most home interiors too, with the flattering shade of grey and accent red hue to add a pop of retro-glam. A: If your Singer model 4423 machine manual does not include instructions on oiling, your machine has been pre-lubricated at the factory and will not need additional lubricating. You can, however, put 2 to 3 small drops of sewing machine oil in the bobbin case area, as well as on the needle bar; this will not harm the machine. You may also put a few drops (2 to 3) on the handwheel where it meets the side of the machine.

The LED lights allow you see the true colours of the threads, and do not need regular replacements. Of course, with a reasonably priced machine there comes a few downsides. Whether or not these issues are a dealbreaker will depend entirely on why you need to use a sewing machine. If you prefer flexibility of use when sewing, you’ll be pleased to hear that this machine can be controlled by either the foot pedal or with the hand-controlled stop/start buttons and slide speed controls. The Brother FS100WT also offers a choice of 100 styles of stitches, including decorative options and lettering, which can be effortlessly selected using the large control panel and clear LCD display.

Threading it is a dream; you don’t even have to bring up the bottom thread, piece of cake, threading the needle, really good once you get the hang of the needle threader. The true beauty of this machine is the stitch length and stitch width are both adjustable, even better, easy-peasy buttonholes, yep, that’s sorted with one-step buttonholes. I can recommend this machine to any beginner; it’s better than some of the brother’s cheaper machines. There’s also no speed control available, which again may be a little unnerving for beginners who like to start their sewing slowly before building up the speed. The Feet: There's also a snap-off/snap-on presser foot design to make switching feet even easier. There's a presser foot lifter which is designed to be extra-high, so you can fit extra layers of fabric underneath. This is really handy for upholstery and other larger projects. Additionally, you can adjust the pressure of the pressure foot (wasn't that a mouthful)- so you can also sew through light fabrics easily. The snap mechanism isn't common with standard sewing machines. That’s a level of service you simply won’t get with an unbranded sewing machine, or one from a lesser company. The Warranty We know that this will be a major pro to all the beginners out there — as well as old hands (like us!) who hate fiddling around with the bobbin. It only has 37 built-in stitches, one button hole, and isn’t computerized. There are no lettering fonts for crafters to use and no options for embroidery.
