Scope Glint is a weapon effect featured in most games since Call of Duty: World at War. It allows the player to better see the concealed enemies that use a sniper rifle (in most games). From time to time, their sniper scope will glint, and player can easily spot and kill them. Using an ACOG will essentially cancel the effect of scope glint.

The ACOG Scope is a bad attachment on the L86 LSW. Although it allows users to more easily acquire targets at long range, it slows down the user's aim down sight time to 400 milliseconds, and it dangerously lowers the L86 LSW's centerspeed to 1300, making the weapon monumentally less accurate. The L86 LSW also has easily the fastest reloads in its class, with the reload animation taking 3.76 seconds to perform, but a Reload Cancel can be performed after 3 seconds. This is easily the fastest reload speed in the L86 LSW's class, with the next closest, the MG36, being a full second slower, and the rest of the LMGs needing double that amount of time to perform a reload cancel. Reloads are relatively painless for the L86 LSW, although one must remember that is a slow reload overall, so the user shouldn't be overly cavalier when using the L86 LSW. Some lethal and tactical equipment pieces, along with Killstreaks, also have special properties on water. For example, Proximity Mines float on the surface of the water, threatening enemy boats.In the campaign, Special Ops and multiplayer, when turning, the L86 stays at the same angle as when the player is still. However, this is different from most of the other weapons. In multiplayer, most weapons rotate on the muzzle, whereas in the campaign, most weapons act like the L86 does in multiplayer. Recoil is moderate, with a little bit of inconsistency. Muzzles or Forgeries are recommended if the player seeks to smoothen the recoil pattern, improving the accuracy over range.
