About this deal

Thanks to its design, as well as its stable and secure fit, the W240TN’s noise-cancelling performance mostly impresses. Walking about with them in central London, the ANC thins out vehicles on the road without erasing them from your general vicinity, and they do this without applying a noise-cancelling ‘whine’, so what you get here is a fairly clean performance.

Walks were mostly peaceful. Landscaping tools and the construction work that took place on the Intracoastal Waterway were unnoticeable. I couldn’t say the same for ambulance sirens and police whistles, but neither of those noises was piercingly loud. Wind resistance wasn’t half bad either. Whisking effects produced in gusty conditions didn’t harm my hearing, and those that came from speeding cars barely made it onto the soundscape. The Edifier W240TN offers 7 hours of use when ANC is switched on and the case will provide you an additional 14 hours in the charging case. When you switch ANC off it will provide you with a slight increase in battery life to 8.5 hours on a single charge and an additional 17 hours from the case. This amount of battery life kept me happy when I was listening to them travelling to work, while I had a workout, and just when it was a time in the day to just listen to some Ibiza chill out at the end of a hard day these earbuds gave me plenty of battery life needed. You can expect a stable connection here, with the W240TN supporting Bluetooth 5.3. No dropouts or interferences were noticed throughout many hours of testing. Battery LifeWhen listening, the setting for highest noise reduction gives the best bass and full range response. The noise reduction setting actually affects the sound equalization. Not sure why they did this. Two preset EQ sound effects are available and more EQ settings can be adjusted by your favor via Edifier Connect App. Shutdown timer function is featured You can go to Edifier Connect App to activate game mode for low-latency gaming experience. IP55 Rating – Excellent for Outdoors

The buds and the charging case are built using premium plastic material and provide that durable feel they don’t feel like they will break after a few uses. The buds do not protrude too much out of your ears and are lightweight at only 5.6g meaning after a long period of time you will forget they are even in your ears. Another factor that some might take issue with is the onboard controls. Edifier's W240TN wireless earbuds forgo the more popular touch panels for physical buttons. The buttons themselves function perfectly fine but it's what you can — or in this case, cannot— do with them that is irksome. You cannot assign individual functions to individual earbuds, thereby limiting the onboard controls. While they come in at the same price, the Jabra Elite 3's 6mm driver is only as large as the smaller driver in the Edifier W240TNs coaxial driver arrangement. Both have 2 mics per bud, mono mode, ANC and transparency modes. The Elite 3s have less battery life in the buds, but the extra juice the case has gives them 3 more hours of life overall.

Could Edifier improve yes, the fact you don’t have multi-point pairing would have been nice to have added. Call quality is also an area that really needs improvement, especially in busy environments. Apart from that if you do not want to splash the bank or can’t and want a pair of buds that does most things well these are a very good option to consider. Product Rating: Edifier kept a lot of important factors in mind with the W240TN TWS earbuds. They are suitable for gym use where your hands tend to get sweaty and interfere with touch controls. I also recommend these earbuds for rainy regions where constant downpours plague the residents. Edifier employs hybrid ANC to eliminate vast amounts of ambient noise. How well does the technology perform? Much better than the price suggests. Battery life is claimed by Edifier to be about seven hours, but performing a battery drain from a Spotify playlist for about two hours resulted in about a 25% drop. I’d say that at 50% volume you could wring about eight hours from the W240TN, which is better than a number of more expensive true wireless. The Edifier W240TN's ANC is a good offering for the price; slightly stronger than the Soundcore Life A3i, and around the same or a bit better than the 1more ComfoBuds Pro and Soundcore Space A40.

With the upper-midrange extension to vocals, comes a nice finishing touch in the treble range. The crisp elements of the W240TN are helped through EQ, but these earbuds also have natural details in their highs. There’s a great sizzle to vocals and instruments that adds color and grace to the sound signature. It adds height and never over-extends into brightness or harshness. Everything is played safe while still using treble details to add texture to the timbre. Summary The charging case is just as attractive. It is rectangular with rounded edges and has a pulsating LED that gives off 1980s TV show Knight Rider vibes. It feels nice in the hand and sturdy enough to survive tumbles to the concrete. Strong magnets keep the buds latched onto their charging slots and the lid shut tight.

Why is Edifier NeoBuds S better than Edifier W240TN?

Hit ‘Customized’ and that opens a complex looking 4-band EQ where you can alter the Gain, frequency bandwidth and Q Factor. The Q Factor “refers to the size of the centre frequency relative to the bandwidth”. The larger the value, the narrower the bandwidth. I must admit that despite this concept being around for ages I struggle to wrap my head around it – it’s a bit like what Final has done with its app for the ZE3000. The best advice is to play around to see what effect it has. Even after twisting and turning the buds and trying to find the magical position that would be the most ergonomic for my ears, I was unsuccessful. You may look sleek with the Edifier W240TN buds on, but that style comes at a cost. You'll definitely need to take breaks every one to two hours while wearing these wireless earbuds.

With the W240TN you actually get an interesting interior design for a true wireless, with dual dynamic drivers 10mm and 6mms. A Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset is also part of its inside build. For its interactive aspects, Edifier has gone with a more simplified physical button on both earpieces. This method works effectively without any major delays. ANC is average for the price, ineffective with high-frequency noise, but okay with low-frequency noise. Like most newer Bluetooth products, Edifier has a companion app with many features, like dynamic sound mode, custom EQ, and game mode. Bluetooth In addition to the audio quality and the ANC, you can also use these buds to take calls due to the built-in mics in both earbuds and the quality is fine I found I could be heard and could hear who is speaking clearly. If the environment is nice and quiet but as we know calls can happen at any time of the day. When you increase the outside noise the call quality can be affected, and more outdoor noise comes in than you might want. It’s a shame but these are budget-friendly in-ear headphones so it’s not a massive surprise. Battery Life

You can mute your voice under the call-mode or select a sound control mode you are used to via the Edifier Connect App. THÔNG SỐ KỸ THUẬT Comfort is satisfying for music lovers that want to listen for long stretches. I would often wear the buds for three hours straight before experiencing any fatigue around the concha. For the W240TN to come with only SBC codec support seems silly, especially when numerous other wireless earbuds come programmed with AAC and aptX. Nonetheless, the streaming quality on iOS and Android devices was solid. The W240TN has a great style for those just looking for something small that fits well. Its aesthetic build is quite nice too, with a singular design that sets itself apart from other true wireless earphones on the market. I could keep the W240TN in my ears for hours on end without needing to adjust them like they’re a natural part of your ear. Design and Functionality Use Edifier Connect App to easily set your preferred button controls. Say goodbye to default factory settings and say hello to your own idea. EQ settings
