About this deal

Updated mainboard - includes modern features like silent motor drivers and power outage recovery, which were not present on the original Ender 3 Cloud Storage Note: Extract to a folder that is NOT in a “cloud” storage folder. Many users have reported issues using the firmware when the folder is in a cloud storage folder. Creality has also added various quality-of-life top-ups that make using the Ender 3 V2 a more pleasant and enjoyable printer to use long-term. These include a new, detachable 4.3-inch HD color screen, a potentially useful toolbox carved into the printer’s base, and XY-axis tensioners to easily tweak belt tension on the fly. In many respects, the Creality K1 is in a completely different class than most of Creality's other 3D printers. The mechanical design of the motion system and extruder make it capable of higher performance than their other machines, and the software features make the K1 feel more like a modern electronic product than most 3D printers on the market today. Of course, it has a price to match the feature set--the K1 is notably more expensive than many of Creality's other printers, so if you don't mind a more hands-on printing process and slower print speeds, something like a Creality Ender 3 S1 will give you a similar build volume for a much lower price. Whether you’re after a new extruder, hot end, tubing, nozzles, tensioners, knobs, casings, cooling systems, and so much more, there’s an option out there. For a deeper dive into what’s available, head to our dedicated Ender 3 upgrade guide and Ender 5 Pro upgrade guide. Ender 3 V2 vs Ender 5 Pro – The Bottom Line

Hi everyone! In this review, we will analyze the specs and features of the Creality Ender 5 Pro, a budget FDM 3D printer kit produced by China-based Creality 3D. Well-known for both the CR and Ender 3D printer series, Creality is one of the most popular and discussed 3D printer manufacturers. Since the launch of their first Ender 3D printer, the Creality Ender 3, the company has achieved remarkable success in the low-price personal 3D printers market segment. That’s why they kept adding new models to the Ender lineup, namely the Ender 3 Pro, the Ender 4, and the Ender 5 series, which includes the 5, 5 Plus, and 5 Pro 3D printers. The proprietary software features two different print modes, the fast print mode and the full configuration one. The second mode gives you more control over the printing settings but also requires a deeper knowledge of printing materials, profiles, and more. I am new at 3D printing. I new nothing about this when I decided to buy a printer. I searched the internet, I read about the different brands and then I found that the most popular printers are Creality and Prusa. Not knowing anything, I was inclined to choose the Prusa. A friend who already owns both printers, told me I would not regret buying a Creality. And boy was he right. You can improve your first layer by tuning the Z offset. This is a value that essentially tells your printer how far to move the Z-axis from the Z endstops – in other words, from the bed. You should set the fan speed of the first layer to 0%. If the first few lines of filament are cooled too much, it can warp and become detached from the print bed. The Ender 5 Pro extra 50 mm on the Z-axis gives you a bit more room to print taller objects. Max Nozzle and Bed Temperature

Then, send the appropriate M92 commands to the printer, again replacing E by the letter corresponding to the axis you need to set.Example Redesigned extruder - makes feeding filament easier since you can disengage the extruder gear to load filament without continually holding the extruder lever. The extruder also has a more closed filament path, making it easier to use with flexibles. However, a direct drive extruder is still a better alternative for any flexible filament. Do NOT use very deep paths. We work out of a folder on our main drive with a subfolder for the printer we are working on. Example: C:\Printer Firmware\MyEnder3\ The Creality K1 Max is Creality’s highest-end printer in this size class, with the same 300 x 300 x 300 mm (12” x 12” x 12”) build volume as the other options, but an advanced feature set that goes beyond what the other printers offer. It has an enclosed design and uses a CoreXY motion system to allow for higher print speeds. Along with the Sprite direct drive extruder, this makes the Creality K1 Max capable of printing at up to 600 mm/s. When the printer boots you may see the TH3D logo on your LCD, printers with low-end CPUs may not show a TH3D logo but all will show a Marlin screen with TH3D Studio showing on the version information. The Sprite direct drive extruder is the same one you’ll find on the Ender 3 S1, and it has proven to be extremely reliable under extended use for our 3D printing business. We have had our S1 for over a year and have not had to perform any repairs on the printer, making this extruder notably more reliable than older Bowden extruders. The direct drive extruder is also a great choice if you are looking to print flexible materials, which are notoriously difficult on Bowden extruders. The Ender 5 Pro should suit those looking for a standard budget printer with a more vertical build volume to print larger prints. It has enviable upgrades, not least the metal extruder, 32-bit mainboard, and a unique design. Both the Ender 3 V2 and Ender 5 Pro come in DIY, semi-assembled kits and take roughly 20-30 minutes to piece together even for first-timers. The print bed on the CR-10 Smart Pro is a PEI spring steel sheet that is attached magnetically to the printer. Of the bed materials we've tested, PEI is one of our favorites. It offers plenty of adhesion during printing but also makes it easy to remove the print once it's complete. In terms of bed leveling, an included CR-Touch sensor enables automatic bed leveling, which is a feature that definitely improves the reliability of the printer and simplifies bed leveling. Bed Strain Relief: this add-on supports and protects the print bed cables to avoid accidental damages and increase safety.

Looks and construction-wise, the Ender 3 V2 changes from its predecessor with a sharp, sheet metal injection and plastic panel design, doing away with the low-cost look for a more cohesive finish that gives it an extra touch of class. Touch Screen - Though the CR-6 max does not have a unibody design like the CR-10 Max, it does have a modern touch screen After calibrating the extruder, it’s also important to calibrate the axes of the printer. Calibrating the axes is similar to calibrating the extruder, but requires that you actually print something. Alongside, it also ships with Creality’s new proprietary Sprite full metal dual-gear direct drive extruder system that helps minimize common flexible printing issues like poor retraction, jams and clogs in the PTFE tubing, while also improving filament control and feeding. Print Bed For other materials you need higher temperatures on your print bed to allow for good adhesion. PETG needs about 70 °C and ABS even 110 °C.For a more detailed look at the features of the Ender 3 Max Neo and what has changed from the Ender 3 Max, take a look at the Ender 3 Max Neo vs Ender 3 Max Comparison. The Ender 5 Pro has a metal-extruder, which helps iron some of the more common Bowden issues such as filament jams and clogs. The Ender 3 V2 instead uses a plastic alternative, but this is easily upgraded. The biggest sacrifice you’ll make with the Ender 5 Plus versus other large format 3D printers is the build volume. at 350 x 350 x 400 mm, it may not be sufficient for some use cases, but it is still large enough for us to consider it large format. If the size is large enough for your needs, the price point of the Ender 5 Plus is significantly lower than other large format printers. Further, it has many of the nice features of more premium printers, including BLTouch Auto Bed leveling, and a unibody-style controller with touch screen. Cura now contains standard profiles for many 3D printers from various manufacturers. These profiles are a very good starting point for most printers.

A with the M92 value for that axis (i.e. the values you noted in Step 1 after sending the command M503) While the printer is also able to print a single part continuously with no interaction, we have found that the limitations of the 45 degree angle made it so only certain parts with specific geometry were viable to produce. Based on this, we feel that the printer is best suited for applications for very long prints (such as cosplay weapons or long functional parts), which would not be possible at all with other machines. On that note, both machines have heated beds, gearing them for a wider range of temperature-sensitive materials. The Ender 3 V2 can reach up to 110°C, making it slightly hotter than the Ender 5 Pro, which is capped at 100°C. Automatic Bed Leveling
