In a short space of time, it has become more bureaucratic and regulated. Specialist knowledge is required to fully appreciate the problems that farmers face today, as many decisions carry legal, tax and practical implications. Farmers and landowners who keep abreast of current laws and regulations will be empowered to make better decisions for their farming business. These regulations also prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases and support small-scale farmers who raise meat in a sustainable way. In addition to Massachusetts, 15 other states, including California, Arizona and New Jersey, have implemented similar bans that the Eats Act would undo. As part of continuing work to improve the experience on GOV.UK, we asked a group of farmers, land managers and advisers in England to share their experience finding these rules.
