In terms of design, it’s one of the best looking power stations on the market in our view. You can buy it with rather natty green, blue or grey trim (we went for the blue) and there is a gorgeous colour LCD screen in the middle of the front face which tells you how much battery you have left by showing 5 slices of a battery. The slices are all blue when full but then they gradually disappear as you deplete the stored energy. We would have preferred to see a percentage level on the display as well, but ultimately the battery indicator works well. I confirmed their pure sine wave output, which is important for sensitive electronics, with a graphical multimeter.
Even though they’re all 2KW or less they have induction motors which can draw over 5 times that when they start up which is more than the 4800W surge the AC200P is capable of. But it handled almost every handheld machine I tried including a powerful 2000W router.With the load tester it ran happily at the full 25A drawing over 320W according to the LCD display, although I did find the cable started to get a little warm. A: For AC50S, the maximum output power is 300W, so please make sure the total power of your devices doesn’t exceed 300W, or the inverter will shut down itself. Firstly, those who are converting a smaller van and don’t want to invest a lot of time and money in a complex electrical system, but still wish to have access to 12V and 230V power. Paired with a portable solar panel, the AC50S makes the perfect portable off-grid setup with absolutely no installation requirements – you can just use it straight off the bat.
