Ruby and Kia first meet when Ruby applies for a job at the Rainbow Union. Kia then shows her the ropes of the job, but Ruby has lots of trouble getting the hang of everything. Ruby and the rest of the group are greeted by Ms. Wright, who gives the girls the grand project of designing cheer uniforms and designing a cheer to go with them. Being the graphic designer she is, Ruby takes on the job of making the emblems for the outfits. However, she gets into a slight argument with Jade, who thinks their two visions for the designs don't match. Amaya however, mends this by thinking of making totally customized uniforms. The girls end up with a variety of looks, and after doing a performance for Ms. Wright, they pass the project. In a similar vein to Jade, Ruby was heavily reserved and put off by Amaya when she first came to Rainbow High, seeing her as Bella's replacement. Despite Amaya's best efforts to break through to her, Ruby initially wanted no part of her. Her opinion was mostly changed however when Amaya introduced her to the Color Change Chamber, which made Ruby realize Amaya's talents and skills she can truly bring to the group. Bella appears to be quite talented in her focus 'set design'. This is showcased specifically in " The Prize at the End of the Rainbow", when she mentions that she wins 'a lot of awards'.Due to Skyler's timid nature, she greatly clashes with Gabriella's large ego and snarky personality, despite having a similar major. From the beginning, Ruby only saw Amaya as Bella's replacement and nothing else. Alongside Jade, she held a grudge against Amaya in spite of her trying to convince Ruby otherwise. Her opinion was mostly changed however when Amaya introduced her to the Color Change Chamber, which made Ruby realize Amaya's talents and skills she can truly bring to the group. They don't get along and Ruby finds them quite bossy. Like the rest of her friends she isn't too fond of them.
