I used my Sizzix machine and the Sizzix Bigz Plus Die – Bunting to cut bunting flags from the plastic bag. I’ve never tried cutting plastic on my Sizzix machine but it worked pretty well, just catching a few times. You could easily do this step by hand if you don’t have a die cutting machine. We’ve shared a lot of free templates and printables to help you have fun with your kids at home or in your classroom or preschool without having to spend a fortune. Every child I have met so far seems to love playing with sand and of course a trip to the beach is even more fun. I recall wonderful times as a child going to the seaside with my family and I have very fond memories of making sandcastles with my Dad. He is a bit of a sandcastle hero really and even now 30 years later he is still enjoying making them but with my kids now. If we are honest I am a little late getting this post up on my blog but seeing as we are having an Indian summer right now, I'll go for it. By making this free printable sandcastle template together, you will also strengthen the relationship you have with your children.

We were going to add a list of suitable craft materials for children to use to make their flags with but, when thinking about it, almost any children's craft embellishments will do. Take some ordinary A4 paper and cut it into 3 smaller pieces as shown, now it is the perfect flag size. All you need to do is gather all the simple materials they need and let them do their very own masterpiece.
