About this deal

Ad perfectum compromissum. That’s what the IE 600 really is, the perfect blend between the reference IE 900 and the super fun IE 300. If you want a bit of both worlds, the IE 600 is the IEM to go for. Disclaimer: The Sennheiser IE 600 was sent to us by Sennheiser directly (thank you!), in exchange for our honest review. Sennheiser is not related to Headfonia in any way. Ahhhh, yes. It's impressive. Without looking at graphs, I had guessed that it's a W tuning: deep bass, upfront vocals, extended treble. If you’ve made it till here in this article, you’ll know a lot of references have already been made to the IE 300 and IE 900, but let’s recap it here: vs ier M9 : ie600 has much better dynamics and impact, deeper rumble and higher treble extension, yet in soundstage, separation, and imaging, ie600 become a dwarf compared to M9's monstrous pin point imaging, M9 sounds much more calmer, warmer, and more neutral

The IE 600 3D-printed shells are tiny, perhaps not as small as the micro-sized IE 800 driver housing buts definitely at Westone W80 level or smaller. Sizes like this often put a lot more emphasis on the tips doing their job when it comes to isolation which you can read about in more detail further down in this review. The Sennheiser IE 600 is a dream to listen to, especially in the disciplines of acoustic and classical music. And what a fantastic reproduction of singing voices! Even more simple and melodic songs, such as “ No Ordinary Love” that I already mentioned, or “ Billie Jean” by The Civil Wars (to move more towards the acoustic side of things), sound very balanced and well defined throughout the mids. The upper mids have a rise around 2kHz which, while maybe not the best I have heard, do a very good job of presenting these voices and instruments with detail and not too much harshness. In this article we review the Sennheiser IE 600 universal In-ear. The IE 600 is selling for €699 Euro. The bass is the typical dynamic kind of bass. Powerful and with good impact. The bass presence is probably boosted a little bit, as Sennheiser also states, but it never becomes too much. The IE 600 driver most of the time is perfectly in control and the bass never becomes too much. It’s the typical bass which most of the DD driven and more neutrally tuned IEMs in this price range have. If you’re looking for a big bass presence, you better look at the IE 300 as the IE 600 will not give you that. Having resolved at the beginning of 2022 to become a serious classical listener, I’ve found the A8000s a worthy investment. Yet few earphones could highlight their shortcomings as all-round performers as the IE600s have… in the end does it matter? Perhaps if budgetary constraints or a commitment to minimalism confined me to a single choice it might, but as matters stand perhaps not. They do virtually nothing wrong and a great many things right. To begin with they’re very well made and feel remarkably durable. Others have said their Zirconium shells feel more pleasant to the touch than those of the IE900s, and I agree. Their form factor is vanishingly small and as a result it’s quite easy to forget you’re wearing them. Their recessed MMCX connectors are a problem (not all aftermarket MMCX cables fit) but Effect Audio’s CONX connectors play nicely with them which is some consolation.

Lana Del Ray’s voice creeps into the cortex with a level of detail and intimacy I’ve barely heard before, in the serene ballad “Watercolor Eyes” from the TV series Euphoria. The steel guitar has a huge reverb, the distant percussion has both air and weight, and the sound is generally a good step above IE 300. Clearly these two IEMs were born of different goals, the one to illuminate equally and the other to shine brightest and cast deep shadows. The IE600 will satisfy a vastly larger audience, whilst the A8000 selectively radiates more powerfully. The IE 600 is actually a middle-child release, with the flagship IE 900 above and the more affordable IE 300 below and with prices that broadly match that structure.I know that this sounds a little as expected, but the IE 600 tuning-wise really is situated between both other Sennheiser IE inears. midrange might not be the most elevated frequency here, yet what i love is they are tuned correctly in terms of portion and balancing for male/female voices, piano, and guitar on middle octave sounds natural and well balance, i do perceive some brightness coloration from the treble elevation, making some S word has an extra air and gives a bit of brightness tinge The original 7.5mm version used inside the IE 800 was built by hand and thus a time-consuming and expensive process. The 7mm TrueResponse driver came about over a number of years improving the in-house production automation process with a more uniform end result including Sennheiser’s own self-designed magnet system. Silicone and memory foam ear tips are also included, each in three sizes. Unlike the IE 800 S, the earplugs have earhooks for the best possible fit. The housings are made using a special 3D printing process with a metal structure called ZR01 amorphous zirconium. Which is more stable than ordinary metal. The drivers have a 7 mm diaphragm with an extra wide frequency range. (Graphic: Sennheiser) The sound of the Sennheiser IE 600 Verdict: Sennheiser has scored with the new IE 600 audiophile wired earphones. They’re made of hard-wearing amorphous zirconium that can withstand the rigors of the daily commute. The TrueResponse transducer produces a detailed sound that’s mellowed by a beautifully warm bass frequency. I guarantee that you will hear details in your favorite music that you won’t have heard before when listening to the IE 600. These are exceptional earphones for the money and can compete with far more expensive models from other manufacturers. If you want a pair of earphones for use with a high-end digital audio player that can produce a sound that makes music shine, the Sennheiser IE 600 are the earphones for you. Highly Recommended.
