Once Paramount+ launches in the UK (on June 22), there’s a possibility the film will become available to stream on it at no extra cost – but we don’t have official confirmation yet, and it will most likely not be available at launch. The film was released in UK cinemas on April 1, 2022. Therefore, its streaming release is just 75 days after its theatrical release – which is not as early as some, but still not as long a wait as past films.

It's unclear who will be voicing Shadow the Hedgehog in the third movie after Shadow's arrival was teased in the credit scene. Kirk Thornton currently voices the character in the series, but we'd expect the role to be recast for Shadow's big-screen debut. Shadow's origin story in the games involves the likes of Dr Robotnik's grandfather Gerald Robotnik and his cousin Maria Robotnik. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is basically everything the first Sonic movie should have been. While the first film wasn't bad per se and perfectly watchable, it was very basic and clearly limited in scope and budget. We haven't had any official confirmations of returning cast for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 yet, but that doesn't mean we can't make some educated guesses. However, it is still earlier than films of the past, when it used to take several months before films transferred from movie theatres to home entertainment.Aside from maybe 2018's version of Tomb Raider or Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, most films based on video games either terribly miss the mark or bomb at the box office. Although the video game industry is booming and probably always will be, the need for game-to-film adaptations doesn't seem to have any benefit for movie studios. That's a pretty sad truth because movies like Sonic The Hedgehog deserve some recognition. Now, this film is far from great, but in terms of adapting a video game, this may just be the best one yet. The film is based on the popular SEGA video game series, and did very well both with critics and the crowds. It became the highest-grossing video game film in the US, and did very at the UK box office as well.
