About this deal

I have always been of the mind that as long as the plots are keeping them interested in 2inch thick reading binges, it should be a good thing.

I am fairly mature (or at least more mature than my 17 year old sibling) and I thought this book was fine. After reading the whole series and rereading I see feyre and tamlin relationship is abussive, it is not good to read a book that romantizes abussive relations, but Sarah do not do this! I totally understand that for the younger readers the description of the scenes may be too vivid and therefore recommend the book for readers 15 and up !

My daughter is not scarred for life or acting strange like some of the other parents at the school she goes to said she would be after reading this book. After reading a few reviews I had thought that it was going to be nothing but sexually explicit scenes. I have read a lot of the comments about the book and see a lot of 13-15 y/o mentioning the explicit intercourse scenes and how they are disturbed by them. Two characters have sex and Feyre has had a past lover as well as all of the other characters (you know, considering they’re immortal).

The plot is not driven by the few romance scenes as much as by the storyline surrounding the mysterious "disease" plaguing the land. Now, it’s remarkably obvious to even the characters in this god forsaken story that Nesta has been struggling after the war (after all it was the supposed reason they sent her away) and yet dear old Cassian gets upset that Nesta doesn’t like his bitch of a High Lord and tells her that everyone hates her. I knew before even starting this book that I would dislike the journey that SJM had obviously planned for Nesta but I elected to power through because I genuinely liked Nesta’s character and she resonated with me on a personal level. I honestly feel a little bad talking shit about them just because I adored them so much in the trilogy, but this shit has got to be talked about. This is an incredible book with incredible character development, but it was not a good way to learn about everything but the biology of sex.The Darkest Deep, book one in the young adult reverse harem romantic fantasy 'Midnight and Dawn: Elementals' series, follows the heir of the Sea Throne through her ascension ceremony to become a princess heir! Children are corrupted not by the content they consume so much as by the repeated actions of society that doesn't fail to reach their notice. Do I wish my daughter's never had to know or experience the most unpleasant side of of sexism and objectification?

Then we have Lucien, who is, without a doubt, one of the sassiest male characters I have ever experienced! Most involve Feyre and either Rhysand or Tamlin (Book 1's love interest, who seems to have taken a turn to the dark side), but there's also a multi-page scene involving a naked villainess sprawled across the bed of one of the male characters and making suggestive gestures in an attempt to seduce him.Despite many warnings not to drink faerie wine, Feyre does on several occasions, including a long period where she gets drunk every night when her captor forces her to attend parties with him. Aramantha is the perfect wicked witch, enough to send children hiding under the covers (and so they should). It's vague enough the deeper meaning is lost on younger readers without the experience to draw on, and the implications in print are, for the most part, wrapped up in themes of love and mutual respect.

Before long, a huge, ferocious beast comes from the faery world to take revenge and drags Feyre off to his kingdom.

Other stereotypes of the men allowed to be primal and have temper issues and act however they want, but the women must act perfect for the men.
