About this deal

For people who are prior fans of Captain Lee it is definitely worth a quick read (and that's what it is, you could honestly finish it in a day). The largest yacht in the show's history, the 10th season of Below Deck is set around the Caribbean island of St Lucia onboard the luxurious 60m (197ft) superyacht ST DAVID. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIANPRINCESSin the Mediterraneandestination of Greece. Home to an impressive array of amenities, standout highlights include an expansive Jacuzzi, a large swim platform for easy access to the water and a gym. Set in Malta, a destination never seen before on the show, the series followed the crew over an eight-week charter season onboard the 49m (160ft) superyacht HOME.

Below Deck Yachts: Real Names and Cost to Rent Revealed

Among the crew members, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain was an integral member of the team from season two to season seven. She features plenty of marble accents and ample alfresco deck areas, as well as a jacuzzi with innovative spill pool features. Delivered by Amels in 2001, the yacht is to the highest standard and pedigree andboasts a wealth of convivial spaces, perfect for relaxing, unwinding and socializing onboard. EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. Sure he is hard on the deckhands sometimes, but he has to be he has a lot of responsibilities on him…can’t wait to see a lot more.

million weekly viewers to appreciate Captain Lee's story, which offers a glimpse behind-the-scenes at the luxury yachting industry and one of Bravo's biggest franchises. Lee discusses his early career as a welder on tall buildings, this was fascinating; his colorful/salty language made the stories more interesting. Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. I'd assumed he'd have hilarious stories about crew shenanigans and impossible to please, demanding guests, but Lee isn't sharing.

The yachties set course for Spain for this season, cruising around the azure waters of the Balearic Islands. His life starts out in Indiana and with an unexpected change of events, he and his wife, end up in Turks and Caicos. They have gone through a lot over the past few years but know that God will carry them through it all…that is how so many of us are able to deal with life!Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean,a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. It would have also been nice to learn how Captain grew up, and how fame has changed his life (financially, socially, etc). The very last chapter of the book explains a bit about how Captain Lee ended up on the Bravo show, and some of the misadventures they had with figuring out how to make a show on a yacht. It's actually an interesting and easy read, and whether you're a fan of the TV show or simply interested in stories about becoming a superyacht captain, there's a lot to like here.

Running Against the Tide | Book by Captain Lee, Michael Shohl

Full of funny, interesting tales of a career at sea, this book starts with explaining how Captain Lee got there. Lee, as a captain has a very wry sense of humor, swears like the sailor he is and doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks about him. Along with tales of debauchery, drugs and drunkenness, this book should stay safely on the adult shelf.

Doctors have assured me I'm not going to damage myself any more by working and I'll be goddamned if anything's gonna keep me from it.

The book is not about the show, and you won't find a bunch of good gossip about your favorite (or least favorite) characters here. Delivered in 2008 by Italian shipyard Benetti, the yacht has an impressive sleek, supercar-inspired profile that instantly turns heads. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! There are four or five really good stories in it that give insight into life on the sea (if you want a great book filled with better stories read Kate Chastain's), otherwise it's just a lot of normal working-class grunt work.It also bugged me that having 5 kids before the age of 25 means your wife was dealing with those kids at home while you were getting your sea hours and adventure on. This requires him to work many days for other captains; some are good at their jobs, others are grifters, scammers and wannabe drug dealers. My former spouse was amazed that I could read while he watched an NFL game while he yelled at the TV. Instead, this is a mix of autobiography of Lee, along with his observations on life and sailing, with some stories to support both.
